I'm not picking sides in this case - but a 15 year old girl? Is it really a surprise that a kid might act like that? And her crime was? Because whatever this started with, it ended with summary corporal punishment of physical and chemical assault.

That's not excessive. Yes she's 15 years old, but laws are laws. She has to follow them just like you and I. The officer was allowed to do what he felt was necessary the second she stopped complying and bit him the hit was a reaction to the bite.

I think we have all seen cops react more aggressively in a much shorter period of time. Well done for the officer. It's ridiculous that people are even considering this as too forceful. He only used (necessary) force after she bit him and after repeated warning.

He follows protocol and even has the decency to warn her that a lack of cooperation will result in her being hurt, since she is fighting back. She should've just complied but he went waaaaaaay overboard. If I was in that position, I would've handcuffed her to the front ramming grill, got another set to cuff her free wrist to the other one, then took the original one off and put her in the back. The arm twisting only escalated it and could have seriously injured her. Watch the video again, she was struggling with everything she had and still being young she wasnt even starting to get tired. All of that desperate struggling causes injury more often than not. He used a jab to stun her long enough to get the spray, then used the spray to make her resist less (no chance of injury).
She was a known banger out after hours. The law doesnt allow teen street soldiers to be out on patrol after dark. Banger patrols should obviously be conducted earlier.

He didn't just find her wandering a street, he was called by concerned citizens about a group of people with garbage bags roaming a neighborhood at 2 or 3am. he found her and questioned her about the bag and she attacked him, according to the report.
I am aware what happened. I explained before that he knew her. At first all he was going to do was give her a ride home and she just started trying to punch him through his window while yelling racial trash. He wasnt concerned about the bags until afterwards. She had stolen property as it turned out.
Those concerned people had seen several youth patrolling after hours in a gang infested neighborhood. This girl is in fact a zoe pound member.
Among other things. A few days after this arrest I was on duty at the shelter. A kid in our program was on the phone with her and she bragged about what happened. The kid told me that that she said he offered her a ride home and that she wasnt getting into a car with a cracker. His color caused her to melt down. She bragged to the kid that she knows the law and that he couldnt search her bag after the arrest, she had stolen clothes. I prefered that cop when they came.

She told another youth on the phone that he couldnt. She was wrong. She told the youth in my facility that he had offered her a ride home when he caught her out after hours. She bragged that she assaulted him through the drivers side window. His report was based on how much to charge her with obviously. Maybe he took it easy on her for being a kid? He came to our shelter several times and was the only cop that did a good job.
I would have turned her into hamburger meat. That cop was always very even tempered. I liked dealing with him when we needed law enforcement at the residential shelter. Unlike the rest of his department he wasnt afraid to arrest any member of any gang or para military faction. He probably had more hits put out on family than any cop in America, he just kept doing his job.
She attacked him for being white when he told her he was taking her home. It didnt start as an arrest.

She never needed to get arrested or cuffed at all, she just had to accept a ride home.

That's not excessive. Yes she's 15 years old, but laws are laws. She has to follow them just like you and I. The officer was allowed to do what he felt was necessary the second she stopped complying and bit him the hit was a reaction to the bite.

jesus, the officer REPEATEDLY asked her to cooperate, not to fight back, and even told her that she would get hurt if she did.
I think we have all seen cops react more aggressively in a much shorter period of time. Well done for the officer. It's ridiculous that people are even considering this as too forceful. He only used (necessary) force after she bit him and after repeated warning.
I've seen my fair share of excessive force videos... this is NOT one of them.

He follows protocol and even has the decency to warn her that a lack of cooperation will result in her being hurt, since she is fighting back. She should've just complied but he went waaaaaaay overboard. If I was in that position, I would've handcuffed her to the front ramming grill, got another set to cuff her free wrist to the other one, then took the original one off and put her in the back. The arm twisting only escalated it and could have seriously injured her. Punching her in the face was just disgusting and spraying her that close all over her face could have killed her or have caused permanent damage. We deserve better.

In case you misunderstood, I think he should be strong enough to bend her arm safely any way he wanted without any risk of breaking it because she is so tiny. You can't claim that everyone who resists arrest has to get a broken arm unless they use pepper spray.

Watch the video again, she was struggling with everything she had and still being young she wasnt even starting to get tired. All of that desperate struggling causes injury more often than not. He used a jab to stun her long enough to get the spray, then used the spray to make her resist less (no chance of injury).
She was a known banger out after hours. The law doesnt allow teen street soldiers to be out on patrol after dark. Banger patrols should obviously be conducted earlier.

He didn't just find her wandering a street, he was called by concerned citizens about a group of people with garbage bags roaming a neighborhood at 2 or 3am. he found her and questioned her about the bag and she attacked him, according to the report.

At first all he was going to do was give her a ride home and she just started trying to punch him through his window while yelling racial trash. He wasnt concerned about the bags until afterwards. She had stolen property as it turned out.
Those concerned people had seen several youth patrolling after hours in a gang infested neighborhood. This girl is in fact a zoe pound member.

Among other things. A few days after this arrest I was on duty at the shelter. A kid in our program was on the phone with her and she bragged about what happened. The kid told me that that she said he offered her a ride home and that she wasnt getting into a car with a cracker. His color caused her to melt down. She bragged to the kid that she knows the law and that he couldnt search her bag after the arrest, she had stolen clothes. I prefered that cop when they came.

She told another youth on the phone that he couldnt. She was wrong. She told the youth in my facility that he had offered her a ride home when he caught her out after hours. She bragged that she assaulted him through the drivers side window. His report was based on how much to charge her with obviously. Maybe he took it easy on her for being a kid? He came to our shelter several times and was the only cop that did a good job.

I would have turned her into hamburger meat. That cop was always very even tempered. I liked dealing with him when we needed law enforcement at the residential shelter. Unlike the rest of his department he wasnt afraid to arrest any member of any gang or para military faction. He probably had more hits put out on family than any cop in America, he just kept doing his job.
She attacked him for being white when he told her he was taking her home. It didnt start as an arrest.

She went into an instant racist melt down and flailed at him through the drivers side window. What you see in the video is him taking her from the drivers side to the front while trying to gain control of her. She never needed to get arrested or cuffed at all, she just had to accept a ride home.
