  • is that eddie v. swinging there at 2:40 ??? :D

  • Great song. He's so highhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!

  • Long Gone Day is such a great song

  • i love this band!!

  • What's Dave Matthews doing on bass and why is he wearing Elton John's glasses... RIP Layne, if you can channel yourself into some of these little fucks that have no musical soul nowadays, please do and save music while it still somewhat exists.

  • I wish so much that Mad Season could've been a bigger deal and made a couple more albums. They're the lost treasure of the 90s. There's just so much feeling and emotion and real talent present in these guys. Awesome.

  • He still is a MUSIC GOD!!!! All my respects!

  • the riff of sax on long gone day sound like come as you are...

  • i dont know anything

  • I was a teenager in the Seattle at the time. I hadn't even thought about the amount of crowdsurfing or stage-diving I had witnessed at these shows.

  • dude, layne looks horrible there. just a shell.

  • it's the hair.

  • i would kill a small child to be there

  • eat your balls

  • Layne look so fucked up here ..

  • Comment removed

  • if i had the chance to see this concert i could have walked out when it was over and get struck dead happily knowing that i had seen the most perfect thing on earth and i knew nothing else in my life was gonna be better...

  • With the guitar, with the shirt ans the hair, Layne reminds me of Kurt

  • thats a fact

  • why dont both of you twats shut the fuck up and listen to the goddamn music who cares about your bull shit ass child nonsense its all about the music so shut the fuck up

  • layne playing guitar= awesome!

  • I wish Mark was a new singer in AIC, not William Duvalle.

  • Has anyone read that book "Angry Chair"? Is it worth a purchase, and are there any other decent AIC biographies out there?

  • the book is a piece of crap, don't even think to buy it = waste of money and time.

unfortunately, there's nothing decent about AIC on the market.

  • wow--tool--monotone? you could maybe make that point about their older stuff which was mostly power chords but not today. and pick any number, 1-10 and tool has played a song or part of the song in that time signature. and saying tool's stuff has no meaning is just ignorant.

but really i dunno why tool is even being compared to this (or layne staley or alice in chains or whatever), i think both groups of musicians had a lot of respect for each other. see: tool playing 'opiate' live with layne.

  • 1.56=HOT

    Good band.

  • I think that is the guitarrist of pearl jam

  • yep it is

  • Layne and Maynard are two great frontmen for so many different reasons. It is subjective to say that one is better than the other. I think Layne was more raw than Maynard and still is, while Maynard is a little more complete. But whatever they both fuckin rock!!!!!!!! I love you Layne!!!!!!!!!

  • Good reply in the debate. I have liked Layne for as long as I have liked Maynard... Just a liitle pissed that Layne & Kurt Cobain never got the help they needed with their depression. Perhaps they should have chosed LSD, like the bands of the seventies did, they may still be around and much happier. I believe that is the path Maynard has taken and perhap's "why" he is still rocking and not pushing up daiseys, like Layne & Kurt...

  • lol if layne took acid it might not have turned out as good. Take the song angry chair, ive read somewhere its about Laynes time in rehab for herion addiction. No herion means a bunch of great songs that wouldnt ever exist.

  • Then how do factor in Pink Floyd, Led Zepp, Beatles,YES, etc... They made great music while taking a hit of blotter paper...

  • Well... It might not have turned out bad per se, just different. Im just saying if layne was taking acid instead of herion we wouldnt have songs like nutshell or angry chair which are some of my favs :-)

  • I as well totally enjoy those songs too. It is just so sad how depression has taken Elvis, Joplin, Hendrix, Bonham, Saunders (Mad Season Bassist) Cobain, and Staley with many others that I did not mention. Who knows what other great songs could have been written. But, when you lose these type of people, the whole world just got a little smaller...I am still bummed about Zeppelin breaking up after Bonham's death, but Plant said he could never be replaced, and Led Zep would never be again...

  • I like to make statements that maybe "politcally Incorrect", "pushing the envelope or someone's buttons" because it helps stimulate peoples minds and start thinking again...too many people are blinded by their stupidity, ingnorance and bias... Many of these younger rock fans have no clue and have bee around the block only once, where some of us older ones have seen rock legends like Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, and newer bands AIC, Mad Season, Tool and have a clue

  • i agree with you im only 19 tho but am i huge music fan and have dug deep to find stuff that has some soul and feel to it now a days finding that is hard, cause so many people listen to the useless boxed up stuff that has no substance and its all image. i have not seen any of the old greats but know what you are talking about

  • lol i get negative marks for saying mad season is better than TOOL,which is true!! hahaha

  • Yes, it is true. Tool is overrated. Maynard can hit some nice notes when singing and all, but it all sounds the damn same. It's all monotone and shit.

  • Alright Mr. Salad head, your right... When I was seeing this show live, you were playing with your X-Men, Star Wars figures and Pokemon, while momming was wiping your ASS. You beligerent little fucker. Get some respect for your ELDERS who have been around the block and have seen both BANDS play, you fucking little "johnnycomelately" asswipe...Why dont you go and listen to the shit your generation is famous for RAP, and leave the ROCK sites for people who were born at night, just not last night

  • Why are you trying to offend me over the internet? It means nothing. I'm nothing but entertained by your nonsense. Fuck off.

  • Child, go blow yourself you friggin' whanker!

  • Hey.......shut that hole in your face. You're taking up my air supply here on this earth.

  • Child,

I would find it very fulfilling to knock you on your ass and shove my fist down your pie hole until your teeth come out your ass you stupid punk ass whanker!

  • Now you're sounding like you're speaking the very broken English of African American with that "child" nonsense. Why don't you try being yourself? I believe you spelled wanker wrong. Plus, that's a hilarious word. You've got me entertained for today. You should be hired as my personal slave joker. I hope you know you're wasting your time here. Piss off. Watch the god damn video. That's what these comment fields are for anyway, numbskull.

  • TOOL better than Mad Season?LMAO,maynard cant compare to layne, and lets just keep it at that, awesome upload here!

  • TOOL & Maynard are still performing and Layne is still pushing up daiseys... No disrespect to Layne though he was (operative word) one of my favorite singers. Too bad he never sought the professional help that he needed to deal with his depression... Overdosing on SMACK is not the ANSWER!!! Lucky that I saw them perform this show though, good memories...

  • He tried rehab lots of times. Kurt Cobain's death even scared him into sobriety for a while. It was just his dad's fault for getting him into it and being a huge disappointment in his life. Also contributing is the death of Demri Lara Parrot, his girlfriend, in late 1996. He just didn't really want to live, but couldn't kill himself directly. I personally think he was waiting until the drugs had gotten ahold of him until he just wanted to die right then and there, so he finally did a speedball.

  • I agree with you, Layne is way better than maynard. Tool is nothing compared to Mad Season.

  • well they were a supergroup and supergroups can't last forever (audioslave, No WTO combo, temple of the dog, alice mudgarden), if a supergroup lasts forever they turn into the foo fighters and they are just downright lame

  • TOOL is a super group and has been around since the early 1990's....

    TOOL Kicks their asses....

  • tool is a supergroup?

didn't know that, yes i agree they are a little better than mad season

  • Look at their World concert schedule from 2006-2007 and the Countries and Cities they have performed at. I would think that should qualify them on merit alone. Too bad Layne did not get the help he needed to get of smack. AIC could have performed alot more...

  • I Laugh at you... Anything Layne did shits on anyhing Maynard will ever do, Layne's voice was real, pure, pain and had it's meaning... Tool's music is hit or miss Mad Seasn and Alice In Chains was a gift from god

  • "Did they play above, artifical red or wake up at this"

They opened with Wake Up and at some point played Above as well.

    No artificial red

  • They did play artifiicla red. They played the whole album plus "Dont want to be a soldier" but for some reason the whole shole has never been released on video. I have the audio.

  • lanegan should have joined AIC - that would have been totally awesome..

not saying this isnt, it is..

just AIC are better i think, one of my favourites

  • Good call, that would have been awesome, dont know the guy they have...any good?

  • some guy called william du vall.. he's ok, but i always think he is just a layne imitator - he actually tries to get the same power/sustain/layne sound but i think it just comes across like an imitation..

oh well, at least he tries bless him

  • "Layne imitator" no1 can imitate Layne, he was one of a kind and thats why he is up there with the greats

  • yeah it's almost enough to prefer the death of Jerry Cantrell over Layne so Mark could've joined AIC. (horrible thought, yes, but at least we would'tve had to deal with William DuVall)

  • steady on..

jerry is a legend too, in fact all of AIC are legends.

  • even Mike Starr?

  • well you could refer to him as a half legend based on his AIC time... though even playing for AIC for any length of time gives you status...

  • man, i had negative expactations of william just like you, but i saw them live two years ago, william fucking kicked ass man, maybe he just needed time to adjust because yeah, he was awful a year or so ago, but now hes the next best thing to layne,

  • love you for ever .

  • Awesome group...awesome song..Layne rocked..u are the king.

    RIP my brother

  • Did they play above, artifical red or wake up at this, seen them all bar them

  • McCready yeah!!!Awsome guitarist

  • My two favorite voices...
