it is almost never like that. that is why we Maltese are astonished to see such weather here. it is mostly cold a bit rainy not hail once every few years one may see such weather here. i should now. I am Maltese hehe

It is hail not snow. You wouldn't hear snow hitting the windows. It's not very common to hail this much but it is not very common to have 20C in December either. Both are extremes and unusual. The average is probably around 15 or so. The sea is about the same. January and Feb are slightly colder though.
