  • I love NIN version expecially but man oh man her voice sounds so fuckin beautiful singin this

  • i wonder how her baby is

  • wow this was just... wow

  • This is a pretty decent cover but this song isn't meant to be heavy.

  • I just read somewhere that poeple kill them selves to this song or something like that

  • Hmm, I dunno, I've never been able to dig Flyleaf. It's something about her voice, it sort of rubs me the wrong way. And the original song is one of my favorites, so this just feels so wrong! (Just my personal opinion - I'm in no way bashing all the Flyleaf fans out there!)

  • UTorrent*

  • what album was this song off, you fellaz fuckin know??? I need to know for UTorent ?!?!

  • NIN's Version is better. But that doesn't mean this one is bad.

  • 1:05 - seriously?? -.-

no version is able to come close to NIИ

  • fuck...this song fits so well right now ...love it.....

  • This is the first ever song I have here of there's (I only found them like to mins ago) and I love her voice :)

  • Her voice is just something else...

  • @superrick download Windows Movie Maker or any other video making software then from there you can add audio, pics, etc.

  • The original NIИ version was better.

  • i just love her voice

  • PLEAS PLEAS PLEAS how do you make a vidio with picks and music HELP ME SOME ONE

  • Pretty good cover, but I don't like the big guitar thing at 1:06... Kind of ruins the quiet, intense feel of the track. She has a cool voice for the song, though.

  • LionBlaze x CinderHeart.... :(

  • Flyleaf are so Amazing <3

this song fits them perfectly.... it's very different from their other stuff but I LOVE IT!

  • This is the "Kid Friendly Version" of this song. :D - My sister. Shes kinda retarded.

  • i hit the slow flake butten :)

  • Both are awesome, but Trent Reznor has so much more raw emotion in his voice when he sings it...it really makes you feel what he is feeling, and that is what makes the NIN version amazing.

  • Favorite NIN song. Didn't know Flyleaf did this too.

  • You always were the one to show me how

Back then I couldn't do the things that I can do now

This thing is slowly taking me apart

Grey would be the color if I had a heart

  • @fashionistafy oh yes:) I take it your a fellow Ev fan then?

  • 4:30.. epic..

  • I have fallen in love this song

  • An atrocity.

  • Love this soo much:) Lacey is amazing. Evanescence should do this cover.

  • i love this song!!!!!! ppl who h8 them...u suck

  • good, but i'm not buying she feels what she sings while singing it. shame, her voice is good. just far not as emotionally gripping and intense as the nin versions, but that's probably an unachievable thing for most and even trickier when doing it with a band.

  • I love this song and if you don't like it then DON'T COMMENT!!!!

  • i loooove NIN but this is an amazing cover. i'm in love!

  • love the lyrics and they relate to me alot i really dont get life:/

  • they are like a woman tool , it's crazee .

like paramore and all them others, but still it isn't that bad

  • Its a great song...

  • She forgot to say "fucking"

  • @AutoBat1 orrrrrrrrrrr they took it out

  • My God, people need to shut the fuck up and listen to the song.

  • @RavenxRobin101 Huh? You still can listen and write :P

  • @AGangstaPIzzaPop What...? That made literally no sense. I was referring to people being intensely obnoxious and immature, fighting about the most stupid things.

  • @RavenxRobin101 but where can I buy it?

  • The haunting quality of her voice cuts to my soul and fills me with passion at times when i fear i am incapable of any. i would like to hear Flyleaf's take on more Nine Inch Nail songs.

  • No...just no. This is fucking crap.

  • @xxxBleedWellxxx Ew. Go away.

  • watch?v=BRHM-2JyYeI

  • NiN <3

  • However don't take it the wrong. I'm pure nihilist, as in not a single ounce believes in human science or god but I like songs from certain Christian bands like this one. Fellow nihilists, chastise me if you wish but if you bought the original flyleaf and listened to with heart instead of judgement you'd find it to be as inspiring as other songs but NIN does top this version hands down.

  • Look flyleaf is awesome but terrible lie, this, and heresy is about as anti Christian as you can get. Unless you tap into the downward spiral's true meanings. Great cover but the song is two interpretations: Trent losing (and eventually rejecting) faith or Trent dealing with drug problems due to his hard life before hand. Nihilism is what alot of flyleaf fans hate. NIN is pure nihilism.

  • @ninjahMommy1 Lacey has had a very rough and dark past just as Trent did. If she had no idea what hurt was, she wouldn't be covering a damn Nine Inch Nails song. She's covered a really nice U2 song and made that one 100% better, this one I can't say is better than Nine Inch Nails.. but it's still very good. Her voice is amazing.. stop joining the bandwagon of dumb asses. Trent Reznor hates ignorant people.. maybe you should respect him by not being ignorant. Not bashing bands.

  • Love this cover. Though Trent's versions has always been a favorite, when he sings "come on, tell me" it always bugs me because it sounds like some kind of pop song "improv" or rap song when they say "throw your hands in the air". I like that this band changed the notes so that it fits with the chords and sounds more emotionally charged.

  • her voice is very addicting

  • shes singing the song... trent FEELS it... cant beleive they have rights... i wish i coulld find a karaoke place with it..

  • NIN is Way more Epic..

  • FYI GUYS, Fly Leaf Is a Christian Alternative rock band ! Not some Emo Type Thing !!

  • NIN is better :)

  • @TheChirpingAssholes hey asshole. not every emo wants to die and what defines an emo anyways? You never know what goes on in some1's life if they choose to be like they are they leave them the fuck alone! what the hell has it got to with you anyway! its people like you that really piss me off so why dont you fuck off and post your shitty comments somewhere else and join the back of the cue with the haters who WE DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT!

  • Why don't you emos just fuck off and die already. You already ruined Tim Burton, just fucking leave Nine Inch Nails alone already, shitheads.

  • The NIN version is better especially the still version, but flyleaf added their own feel to the song and dud a pretty good job.

  • Can everyone stop saying nasty things? Its a great cover!NIN did great and so did Flyleaf! So please just take your rude comments elsewhere. We don't wanna hear them!

  • The irony of a Christian band covering a Nine Inch Nails song, and also failing fucking miserably at it. Fuck you, Flyleaf, and your mindless posse of followers.

  • @TheChirpingAssholes We thank you for your kind comment. All 3,789 of us.

  • STUCK IN MY HEAD OH MY GOD!!!!!<3 you so much Flyleaf!!!

  • actually not a bad cover

  • Comment removed

  • I HATE THIS VOICE

  • This sounded so much better live.

  • This version is fucking terrible. She sounds like an Irish Avril Lavigne (guessing the spelling of her name, don't care if I misspelt it). If you haven't heard Nine Inch Nail's version, please pay Reznor the respect of listening to it.

  • This, Sucks. Zero Vocal Emotion when its needed. Trent will never be dethroned.

  • thier singer really sucks !!!!! listen to the original!!!!!!!!!!!

  • no comment...............whell i guess this is a comment but u get my point

  • Delicious.

  • i just watch boku no pico ep 1 and i NEED IT TO GO AWAY D:

  • @dUalbLadeVongoLa LMAO SUCKS FOR YOU XD

  • god sheeple, if you've enjoyed this, you should check out the video for happiness in slavery... one of my favorite childhood classics!

  • hey, where's the "fucking"?

  • Yes. They are Christians. Yes they are a band. Are they a “Christian” band? Well, since they make no claims of being a Christian band, I’d say no. So they left the "F" word out. That’s their prerogative, just as it was Trent’s to put it in. They are talented as hell & rocked the song out. I love the original by NIN & I find this one to be a pretty badass, worthy cover. Talent is talent; emotion is emotion, no matter where it comes from. This is an honest representation of an honest song.

  • i actually like this version =]

  • I like both versions, i mean you cant really compare it to NIN version but i still don't see the crime in liking both...

  • @AnglofDoom Agreed. :) I particularly like the guitar in this version & Lacey's voice is great, but I will always like the original most overall since it possesses more of a darkness befitting the lyrics.

  • @AnglofDoom The trick is to believe thet they're not even the same song. If you can do this, then you can appreciate them individually without linking the two and thinking one is superior.

  • I love Flyleaf so muc h<3

  • Honestly, I think this is forty times better than Trent's version.

  • love it (even though i like Trent Rezners ver. better) still shes got tallent.

  • Christian bands should not cover songs from good bands, unless that band is fronted by Tim Lambesis.

  • Thanks for watching the video!!!! I'm so amazed that there are already over 1.000.000 views!!! :) :)

  • @SmileTine can't find this anywhere else but youtube. thanks for loading it!

  • @SmileTine

You guys are a really great band... Keep it up! Just make sure not to change the way you want things to sound.

  • @SmileTine while flyleaf is quite amazing, i still have to say the NIN version is unbeatable. Flyleaf did an outstanding job but it just doesnt beat NIN. still a good song though.

  • @ImpulsiveCarrot thanks for your comment! You're right. I think many covers can't beat the originals, but Flyleaf did a great job.

  • @ImpulsiveCarrot The purpose of a cover is not to beat the original but to pay tribute to a band for a variety of reasons.

  • @ImpulsiveCarrot I was never a big NIN fan, but this is definitely one of the best songs I've ever heard by either band. Though I don't agree that NIN's version is better, I do agree that this song is just amazing as it is.

  • i thnk i would lik this better if i hadnt heard the original frst, but since i hav... i cant get n2 it :/

  • Ugh people if you do not like religion talk than listen to a band that is not a christian band!!!!!!!!!!

  • it just so lacks the 'fucking' at 'fading ... reminder'....

  • @hombretao

My thoughts exactly. The word holds so much power in the lyric, and the fact that these God people can't swear just shows they shouldn't be the ones performing this song.

  • @americanaccents maybe they should have replaced with any other word to fill the gap or whatever, but there's this gigantic awkward silence the size of a swimming pool on this version and you got left there floating and the entire song goes to fuck. I was actually thinking it wasn't such a bad version until that part came in and then thought 'nope... chuck testa'.

  • @americanaccents Anyone who this song touches has the right to perform it...just sayin'. I'm a "God" person, as you put it, and I say "fuck" all the time. I know I shouldn't, but I do. I play the NIN version and sing it to the top of my lungs all the time...and I have every right to, as I'm a living, breathing human being with feelings and emotions. It's an intense, crazy, emotional, amazing, oddly beautiful song. I'm a "God" person and I get that.

  • talk about songs that describe my life... O_______o so applicable its actually scary..

  • I think this is a damn good cover.

  • ya they do a good cover, but they still killed it, im sorry but its true, this is just one of those songs u dont fuck with, even if ur only covering it to give them props, in the end u just come off as a jackass

  • @garra448 it's just a song. lol not that serious. No one's gonna die, no one is being prostituted, raped, dying of hunger right now because of this cover. So just shut up and stop complaining. Jackass.

  • This is the kind of song only Trent can sing..

  • yea this is a NIN cover ! glad i stumbled on this now i wanan go listen to NIN (old) good cover tho!

  • Just a fading Fucking reminder

  • It's seems inevitable that any time someone does a cover people feel the need to compare them and determine which is "better." Do you think Flyleaf covered this song to make it "better" or because they liked it and wanted to perform it? They did a damn good job, it just sounds different, not better or worse.

  • I have mixed emotions about this one. She does a great job and I love the guitar riffs (which I always thought was a major missing piece from the original). BUT Trent puts more of that "I'm a psycho, coming to get you" thing in his voice ... his version is creepier (which makes it better).

  • she fucking sounds like she should've been a character on rugrats...

  • @HuyerPercussive

thanks a lot, now i can't listen to this song without thinking about Lil....

i like this version, mostly because the instrumentals express the anger so well. and...i really think trent's a lyrical genius, but i PERSONALLY don't like the way he sings so yeah I like this version better....

  • i really love this version.. Great remake of a classic NIN song :)

  • I prefer this song with a bit of anger behind it, and the pounding guitar makes this version my favorite.

  • her voice is beautiful & i love most flyleaf songs, but really the NIN version just captures so much more anger than this version...don't get me wrong, Lacey did a DAMN good cover of this. but Trent's voice still has my heart on this one.

  • I just found out Flyleaf did a cover of this song, and I'm pretty okay with it. It's not going to sound like NIN, as this is a different band. This is coming from a pretty big Nine Inch Nails fan, not so much of Flyleaf. All in all, this chick did a damn good job. The people saying that this song is really "from Lacey's soul": that very well may be true, but let's not kid ourselves, it was from Trent's soul first, and the words were published in 1989. ::rolls eyes::

  • She did a pretty damn good cover of trent~ ^^

  • Compared to NIN, Flyleaf did a pretty kick ass job. [: <3

  • I find it hard to take anyone but Trent Renzor serious while singing this song.. I'm sure she is talented but all the extra music drowning out the voice ruins this song.. IMO...

  • For all the Lacey haters, apparently you have no idea what real music is. As if you can't tell, Lacey's lyrics come from her soul, you can hear it in her voice. I love all of her music!

  • @XxjfreemanxX

These aren't her lyrics. And don't assume that people you don't know are idiots because they don't like a particular artist.

  • oh and 3:34 is supposed to be just a fading fucking reminder of who i used to be so get it right bitch!!!!!

  • Nine Inch Nails sounds a hell of a lot better, pretty hate machine best album ever!!!

  • I still recall the taste of your tears

Echoing your voice just like the ringing in my ears

i love her... please marry me lacey! <3

  • I love this song!!!

  • Im not taking anything away from this version, I hear the talent but.....If it weren't for Trent Rezon and his begginings, indusrial rock and emo pain wouldn't exsist.

  • @CaseyGoff i thought trent rezner made this song? thought he was the original maker of the track

  • @TheSoundOfRealLife He did, I had a big typo.

  • @CaseyGoff It's Trent Reznor and don't cal NIN emo

  • Emo pain, teenage angst, has always exsisted, who do you think inspired Trent Resnor?

  • @CaseyGoff Reznor. lawl. But i totally agree. He is definitely a cornerstone in industrial rock.

  • @CaseyGoff I love that everyone's backing Michael Trent but.. It just bothers me that no one corrected your spelling of Reznor. I guess it's OCD.. but anyway, certainly he was/is a musical genius!

  • fuckn love this song !!

  • I love this song <3

Credit goes to NIN for writing it of course, but imo Flyleaf gives it a whole new great feeling.

  • Is this the Glee version of this song?

  • @Thurbane316 LOL omg no yo this is the flyleaf cover to Nine Inch Nails =P

  • nin is better but this is a Ok cover

  • garageband guitars and celine dione vocals

    BUTCHERY

  • People actually think this is better than the Nin version? Ha what a joke.

  • I'm shocked they don't have a video for this song. It's friggin' awesome!

  • NIN version is much better in my opinion... :P

  • Ehhh.... yeah, not feeling it. I tried it, but I have to say I liked the original better.

  • This singer is pretty good but I feel like the guitar chords just fucked up the essence of the Nine Inch Nails sound effects. In the Nine Inch Nails version, you can hear the pain and anxiety from the sound effects which is Nine Inch Nail's signature no band can ever replace...

  • not feeling it.....NIN for the win

  • I think this bitches voice sounds like the audio on a worn out VHS tape from the 80's.

  • Ur dumb!! @MrWickedclown76. Her voice is beautiful!!!!!!

  • @MrWickedclown76 your too used to the voices of men.

  • @MrWickedclown76 How can a voice, sound, be compared to a visual description of a 'shitty ass'. That is fucking vulgar dude. =/

  • i bet half of these views are mine

  • I love this song!!!! far better than Nine Inch Nail's version. but we all have our opinions, as I can tell by reading other comments, some very strong opinions. Seriously people, relax... its just a song! hhaa :)

  • I think that Flyleaf does a great job with this song. A new twist on an old favorite. It's definitely different with a female voice.

  • "gray would be the color...if i had a heart..." Epic line

  • i swear every time i go on youtube to listen to a flyleaf song theres ALWAYS comments of people talking shit about religion, ect. But do you think that flyleaf really give two shits what you haters think? yeah, some members may have turn to drugs at tough times, and im sure they think about it now in disgust. As for religion so what if they believe in god, just keep your opinions to yourself.

    FLYLEAF FOREVER <3

  • btw, God doesnt die. and im sure he appreciates the fact that you capitalized his name.:)

  • this song is great. laceys is one of the most inspirational singers ive ever heard. i would love a chance to get to know someone as honest and true to theirselves as her.

  • People are so nasty. Music is music, some people love this, some people hate this. Keep it to yourselves, listen or turn it off. Dont force your nasty comments on the people who WANT to listen.

  • This bitch has the most annoying fucking voice I've ever heard. She brings nothing but shame to this song. She just ripped out the half of my soul that Amy Lee didn't take with her when she covered "Orestes" by APC. Sent it straight to hell. Disgusting.

  • butchered

  • FUCK YOU FLYLEAF YOU ATTENTION WHORES. It's bad enough Johnny Cash did "Hurt"... and I actually like that one. While no one can capture Trent's passion for "Hurt", Johnny knows what a rough path is like. You can't.. CAN FUCKING NOT... in any way shape or form even pretend to convey the pain in this song (especially the PHM version) unless you are the one who wrote it (i.e., Trent). Stop trying to impress people with the songs of greater artists than yourself. Assholes.

  • @DaemonWulf isnt this song about heroin? that flyleaf bitch never did heroin or know the raw pain that accompanies addiction... thats why you hear 0 emotion in her voice......
