I remember when this was first announced at Sony's E3 in 09 and I thought "FF MMO on PS3, oh yessss". Gradually nearer the time, they announced it would be out on PC first in September 2010, and March 2011 on PS3 and it broke my heart. I decided I'd wait and still get it since I'm an avid fan of FF games.

Then came March 2011, " PS3 version delayed indefinetely".

Now? I couldn't care less about this game. Problem after problem. Delayed 6 months only to be delayed again. Put me off it entirely.

I would bet that some of the issues that are being brought up with FF IV will be fixed by the time PS3 version comes out. Just reading reviews and listening to players, the online experience sounds like it has some amazing things going for it,but it needs some work. Square needs to get down and listen and fix it by PS3, or else 

The game isn't coming to xbox due to square enix and not microsoft not being able to come to an agreement over the live service and fees.

You switch classes by changing weapons, unlike other MMO's where you ahve to create a new character, in FFXIV you can change classes on the fly with a single character. That means when you max your play time with one class, you can switch to another and begin leveling that class. And trust me, there are many classes including crafting classes.

currently a beta tester i gotta the graphics are great, music great, at times there is voices in the cs well so far in the beginning intro on ship, but the gameplay i think kinda meh, controls to move asdf camera controls ijkl yea its kinda weird the directions arrows on your key aboard are of no use also the number is also for control as well, as for attacking you have to keep pressing your attack button, you dont automatically slice like normal, plus if your stamina runs out u cant attack

My thoughts are that this game would have to be free2play or be really innovative and revolutionizing the name of MMOs if it wants to become pay2play. Too many recent pay2play mmos out there are all failing atm, and WoW still seems like the best even though it really sux atm.

FFXI was good while it lasted, but after 3 years after launching (around 2006) I got attracted to WoW instead, WoW basicly ended up becoming the same old same old disappointing raids.

The thing I hated most in FFXI that wasn't seen in WoW, was the NM camping, especially by the RMTs who you had to make friends with if you wanted to get gear, and the boooring just boring grindfests associated with leveling.

@Kaboom921 Dude, have you played WoW recently? It started good but now its a joke. All you need are enough addons and it practically plays the game for you if you hit buttons in the order the addons tell you. On top of that, they made it so easy! Up until they shortened AV and removed the quests it was amazing, 3 days AV, that was fun. Now? Its just pathetic... get 500 marks and you instantly are able to get into ICC, getting into ICC should require skill, not a few months of ez game play.
