That quote is an example of what I like about Sri Aurobindo's perspective on Reality. I am reminded of the rhyme, "If Nirvana is so great, why bother to create?"
If the Divine is in the one and in the two, why get back to zero (the ground) through meditation? Why not reside with the Divine in the world of becoming since we can never really leave that anyway?
Part 2 That Shankara appealed to heavily interpreted scripture for the correct understanding of experiences is an admission that the correct understanding is not given in the Advaitic experience itself.
In the end we all choose in our ordinary state of mind how to weigh experiences based on values and considerations outside any one type of experience. This points to the reality of this world.
