  • I really don't understand the idea of flyball... It can't be healthy for a border collie to run full speed at an inanimate object and bounce off it... just not natural. What happened to good old fasioned "fetch" or frisbee, or heck--- herding?

  • @Elisheval I assure you it is much healthier for the border collie to be training and playing flyball than being bored out of his skull. BC's are SMART. And they have a lot of energy that they want to put to work in a focused structured way. Good ol' fashioned fetch and frisbee are fun but for some dogs they just don't cut it, and it's a little hard to find sheep to herd ti suburbia :)

  • @Elisheval then you clearly don't know the sport of flyball. If you take the time to educate yourself about the sport and learn about the training process (this isn't the kind of box you see at tournaments anyways) but the dogs are perfectly fine and some dogs do the sport up until in their early 10's.
