  • is there no low pressure blades in a steam turbine? and how come the first stage is big, shouldn't the first stage have the smallest blades?

  • @NickBlackDIN if it were a jet engine yes the first stage is almost always the smallest and strongest, this allows larg amounts of torque to be used for the compressor series, the larger turbine blades further in the series are normaly used for the bypass fan and the large compressor series if there is two series of compressors. since this is a steam turbine im not quite sure about the sequence in which the turbines are set inseries from smallest to largest, you are rite though i agree..
