  • I had a friend in H.S. {Alvirne} who was a die hard Feat fan..... (Rick U no who u are. From Dave ) He Hooked me on Feat and this is the best!

  • 2 degrees in be-bop, a PHd in swing, he's the master of rhythm, he's the Rock n Roll King

21 people drank the Kool Aid

How can you NOT like the Feat??

  • A doctor of the heart, and a doctor of the mind... :)

  • I wish the line were "to meet the doctor so old he's got his very own cane" instead of "very own thing." What does "very own thing mean" in this context anyway?

  • @Drstarbone is it not "to meet the doctor of soul, he's got his very own thing"?

  • to be taken twice a day- after stress lay back and groove

  • voted the best band in the world in Europe severel times.

  • Bad azzzzzzzzzz

  • Just the funkiest group of guys that ever stood on a stage....no question..!!

  • LP"アメイジング"からのドライヴィング曲"ロックン・ロール・ドクター"、リトル・フィートの黄金メンバーの勇姿だネ!~ナイス・ドラマー、リッチー・ヘイワード #jazzm

  • @dezertfox4323 mmm that's debatable

  • @dezertfox4323 dogs don't have fingers

  • @dezertfox4323 how would they hold a pick or press on the frets?

  • Man I'm hooked on this song, put me down for 1000 of those views...! They sure don't make em like that anymore..

Those 20 dislikes need a call from the 'doctor'..and get their ears syringed

  • Man I'm hooked on this song, put me down for 1000 of those views...! They sure don't make em like that anymore..

  • Bob Harris said this was recorded at approx 9am one morning. Phenomenal!

  • @me1onhead Feats could be funky in their sleep

  • Definitely the most underrated rock band of all time.

All you have to do is listen to how fucking awesome it really is...

Really. The only band I EVER heard that managed to fuse funk, jazz, blues, country, and rock n' roll.

    The Fractured Mosaic...

  • ignore people that dislike this - let them dislike it - WONDERFUL MUSIC - *clicks like*

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck it, if you combined the souls of all the members of the current crop of 'rock' stars it still wouldn't come anywhere close to matching the soul in Lowell George's little finger. Peace y'all.

  • This was the first Feat song I ever heard....and I was hooked!

  • This is how I like my drummers - wild, crazed and not just going through the motions. A serious bad ass it has to be said

  • @Shagrat65 richie hayward is one of my top 3 favorites

  • Mydachshund, if you need backup..... I'm there!

    Superb stuff!

  • i don't think i've ever seen Lowell George so svelte. awesome video!

  • The bassist is feeling it at 3.05.

  • I'd love to meet the 20 people that hate this and give them a lesson in what true music is!

  • Lowell George was rock n roll sad that he had to die to be appreciated

  • personally losing lowell was more of a loss than elvis. What great guitarist and what a voice. Some of the best live shows I 've seen. RIP LOWELL and RITCHIE

  • man, that drummer can hold a back beat. jealous as fuck.

  • @bentnosewp That's Richie Heyward, the drummer's drummer. RIP Richie, Heaven's boogying big time now!

  • 20 people never met the rock 'n' roll doctor

  • best band of the 70's.

  • LG I caught you now you're gone and there's no cure. miss you always.

  • This is the essence of soul right here !...buttersoul vocals, quirky turnarounds, inventive song form....slide from the gods...Little Feat and Lowell were channeling on this one....start to finish, an escalating musical event..."Fever all day and chills at night"...Indeed

  • Lowell George is an original. You hear his voice you know who it is. That Bogus Rock Hall inducted rap crap before consideration of Feat,George,Doobies,Los Lobos,Tower of Power, Average White Band, Spirit,Deep Purple,PR & RaIders..etc. Make that known my friends The reason you are here is because you appreciate Great Music..

  • Lowell is so damned sexy!

  • stellar.

  • the funkiest , stonedest clip on you tube - it cant be beat !!!

  • rip ritchie and lowell brothers in gods funkiest band !!!!!

  • Great...Lowell..R.I.P. One of best tracks of Little Feat I always listened to in my youngness...and even now...

  • How could anybody dislike this. One of my favourite clips of one of the best bands ever. Good rock n roll just gets better with age.

  • The synergy and groove created is phenomenal....

  • Gumph....... amazing.

I'll be likin' this dude on facebook when I'm not behind a firewall.

  • Dripping with funk, Rock 'n' Roll Doctor takes me to rock 'n' roll heaven. One of the greatest songs ever written!! Lowell owns this song. I still love the post-George Feat, but this band was special in so many wonderfully funky ways.

  • @LoveLoveLove377 Little feat are great,still.

looked at your channel, I recon you'd love JJ Cales works as well. Check out JJ Cale travellin light or Friday for starters :-).

  • Tests prove 18 out of 1,122 dudes can't relax into the back beat.

  • RIP Richie and Lowell. No band ever like them. The jackass RnR Induction Committee are bozos. Since Feat was not inducted over the trash they selected the Rock Hall is invalid. Proof:No Doobies, Los Lobos, PR & the Raiders, Tower of Power, Average White Band, Steve Miller, Deep Purple and so forth.

  • they all hated each other by then, even though they were all still marvellous

  • @DrunkOnPoppySeeds i was only barely 7 when Lowell died but ive had fun times with every other member of the band....no hatred happening.....just too much China white (or poppy tea in your case which i love!) and cocaine said the dead singer..and i love Lowell..............

  • Justin Bieber couldn't tune Lowell Georges Guitar, Some people can't hear it thunder!

  • Justin Bieber couldn't tune Lowell Georges Guitar, You can't fix stupid!

  • Justin Bieber can do this one much nicer.

  • @chasemonster the little boy justin wouldnt know what the song is about...or try to play a musical instrument better than you! i had to look up the kid....u and your kid justin wouldnt know what up,down,in and out means!

  • @chasemonster the little boy justin wouldnt know what the song is about...or try to play a musical instrument better than you! i had to look up the kid....u and your kid justin wouldnt know what up,down,in and out means

but i WOULD LOVE to hit both w a speedball then through you a line and then throw you both a dime........

  • Doobie Bros in the Lyceum?, London in 1974 (I think). Oops! It was the Rainbow in 1975.

  • I saw them support the Doobie Bros in the Lyceum?, London in 1974 (I think). Everyone was high, including the band. After they finished their set, probably the greatest I had ever seen of any band, on came the Doobies who played a couple of tunes while watching most of the audience leave. The headline act ended up begging people to stay!

  • RIP Lowell and Richie.

  • I love them as much today as in 1975. I'll be seeing them in Tulsa in June and I can't wait!

  • Comment removed

  • The music of my youth!!! I just love the way that most of the bands back then didn't have to resort to stage antics....no light shows, flames or crazy crap.....just great music. We just became part of the music. That's all we needed. RIP Lowell.

  • enjoy the hi

  • It doesn't get any better than this people, just sit back and enjoy the ride.

  • epic drum face.

  • 18 people wanted a second opinion.

  • great slide guitar technique by the late great Lowell George

  • most underrated band of all time

  • @zakisber that's it pure and simple

  • lowell sportin a pimp outfit.. he's my hero

  • Phill - what a great band, wonderful.

  • Bands come and go ...there are so few unique funky bands or any band for that matter thatve been around nearly 40 yrs ....., Now Ritchie Hayward has passed on ,but his drumming will always be remembered just as Lowell Georges songs and voice will be, Little Feat has been a great band for all these years and they keep on going

  • hard to believe that Frank Zappa kicked him out of the mothers of invention for writing the song "Willin" (cuz of the drug references}

  • @duke1174 probably a little more than just a reference! Frank was notoriously anti-drugs and wouldn't tolerate their use by the band members. And so, not so hard to believe. Besides, wouldn't you rather have the Mothers and the Feat??? Those were the days...

  • far out man !!!

  • Super powers.

  • he is one hell of a sick guitarist

  • A master of rhythm is goddam right. If this ain't perfection I'll eat my fuckin hat, brim and all.

  • If only Lowell Georage hadn't died early.......if only. The guy had more soul than 99.99% of the pretenders.

  • @MrDavis746

    Amen, brother.

  • Way terrific.

  • saw Little Feat at the Garde in New London Ct few years ago...they were great.

  • I've watched this hundreds of times. Lowell George legend

  • Awesome

  • just doesn't get any better than this tune.

  • this is the opening song on an album called "feats don't fail me now," arguably the Feat's finest studio effort...

BTW---Pete Townsend of The Who called the Feat the best band EVER to come out of America, and went on furthermore to call "Waiting For Colunbus" the BEST LIVE ALBUM he's ever heard.....No B.S.

  • good old lowell george

  • When we bought our new 010 Rav 4 with the large 6 Cyl AND AS I PLAYED THIS ON THE cd PLAYER tHE YOUNG SALESMAN freaked to find out who this was Of COURSE, I directed him here THE ROAR OF THAT ENGINE WAS IN TUNE WITH THIS AND with ALL THAT YOU DREAM THE shameless dikheads in RnROLL INDUCTION cOMMITTEE OUGHT TO TRY THAT ON THEIR SALESMAN FOR A VOTE tHIS is WHY THE rOCK hALL HAS NO credibility

  • @ stampedehero22 It's worse than that! They inducted freaking Run DMC!! WTF???? Also, no Chicago, Boston, Bad Company, Kansas! The voters are either braindead or being bought!!!

  • Saw them in concert..... they jammed.........

  • The message here I think is quite obvious: "Stay the 'F' away from PCP!"

  • It doesnt get any better than this !!!!

  • early doors, after his 'medication' , Lowell was just alright.....

  • Feat is one of a KIND That WORTHLESS Rock Hall of Fame did not induct class bands like this as well as Doobies, Los Lobos, Steve Miller, Steve Ray Vaughn, Tower of Power, Average White Band, War, Rascals, Spirit, Paul Revere and the Raiders They inducted bland U2, Iggy Poop Cure, Prince and so forth So this means the Rock Hall is not bonafide. It is not a credited organization.

  • it was 5am in England in January 1975 .....what else do you expect......

  • Just love the comments I'm reading re this video. Totally agree with maida1982's comment. As for the bass player, Lazzarij and I must be from the same planet - I think I watch the video 10 times over just to check out 'dem moves' he dared to do in on stage... the sort of thing I'd only do in private; like driving around whilst catching a vibe off a track like this. 'Realfretslider', I'm jealous. As for Mrbeheard, lets see ya stuff . Though it's been some time now, R.I.P Lowell George. Peace

  • @dremtay8

Yeah ok, I'll get my slides transferred to jpg or whatever and post them somewhere. I'll take a pic of the maraccas as well. Must make mention of Billy T's performance as well. Sam C from Stockley, C, &Mason ? is a good source of reference on Little Feat as he lived with Billy Payne for a while. Billy Pannel has got some very good info on Feat as well as old F Troop footage he sent me. Give me a week to get my act to-gether. Cheers Beheard.

  • @dremtay8

As for MrBeheard "showing his stuff", he has just got a new avatar. I'm not to sure about posting jpgs on this site.

    Regards

  • The Bass Players Flairs / Moves crease me up! was he in Porridge?

Jokin apart - Love this bands music! - The Music Lives On!

  • Saw these guys supporting the Who at Charlton in '74

    They were ab fab

  • @theRealFretslider

I was at that concert too, true story, Lou Reed, Bad Compay, Mary Hokins as well from memory.

    Beheard.

  • @theRealFretslider My last reply to you was somewhat hurried as I was going out to work. I can't recall Little Feat at that concert, unless they were the first band up whilst we were getting inside, or there was more than one concert the who played at Charlton in 1974. I'm from Melbouirne if that helps. I didn't switch onto the Band until '76. All a bit spooky, please fill me in.

    Beheard.

  • @MrBeheard

The Charlton concert in '74 featured The Outlaws, Widowmaker, Little Feat, Alex Harvey (SAHB) and The Who. Needless to say The Who were excellent.

  • hey, ya gotta say...

    this shit's incredible!

I feel lucky to be around for these once in a blue moon, not before nor since gems!

  • ...two degrees in be-bop a phd in swing,

he's the master of rhythm he's a rock and roll king...

First saw Feat perform this masterpiece at Festival Hall in 1976, & they changed my taste in music forever.

Had front row seats & Lowell summoned my girlfriend (now wife) to front of stage & gave her his maraccas, I was lucky enough to have a good camera with me, & found my slides recently (in Very good condition).

Imagine this: Ladies & Gents welcome to the stage, Lowell, Frank, Captain..

  • this is music, fuck man what the fuck are those 18 people into music wise

  • Why are bands completely incapable of hitting these deep rhythms anymore?

  • The bass player is so badass!!

  • Why do 18 idiots dislike this. Are they deaf.

  • Why aren't Little Feat in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame? Lowell George was a true genius - When they were on - this wonderful mosiac, they were the best band in the world.

  • @1blastman they've always been the best band in the world... every generation of the band has been specatcular and leagues above any other touring band out there in every way. all the way up until Richie died.

  • tedh

    Fan from day one

  • MAN, that is fucking awesome.

  • My dad died when I was 5. One of my only memories is of him bringing over his buddies over and picking up his guitar and they totally owned a Little Feat cover. If I didn't have that memory, I'd be applying to medical school now like my stepdad wanted. Instead, I'm following my dreams by making music, and I got dad's guitar in a glass case on the wall. Most people listen to music for entertainment, but me, it's in my blood man. Miss you old man, thank you for the great music.

  • This is one of the finest live performances ever. It sounds f*cking outstanding. To those 18 fools who dislike this song/performance, go and get yourself some ears.

  • I saw these guysin 1972, in Memphis at the Overton Park band shell, backing Bonnie Raitt and then doing their own set,. Lowell tore the ploace up. I had never seen or heard such ass shaking boogie. I was able to see them perform three times later especiall good was the "Waiting on Columbus" tour, I gavemy son my vynal records and turned him and his buddies on to Little Feat, Being at Ole Miss down south, they were amazed at the sound. Lowell was a genius, but the band was great as well.

  • PhD in Bee Bop baby

  • @mattpyles1981

almost - Two degrees in Be-Bop, a PhD in Swing, he's a Master of Rythum, he's a Rock 'n Roll King - legendary lyric. Feats never fail us - Lowell this is the world saying we still love you.

  • Doesn't get much better than this!

  • i was really hanging out to see feat in '74 and had got tickets for their Melbourne concert and then a friend bought some tickets for the Eagles who were playing about a week earlier. after seeing the eagles who were not my favourite band i thought

"f*ck, how can feat be this good?

    But they were better.

You should all download electtif lycanthrope from the american heritage site. the greatest live performance they have ever done.

  • @retaetna can you kindly give me the web address to get this great feat show? I had a vinyl boot in the 70's which got misplaced and was far and away the best Feat show I ever heard. I have been looking for it for over 30 years.

btw, I did see Little Feat in Stuttgart with Rolling Stones in 1976. Nobody like Lowell!

    thanks

  • @rjrizzo2 - I saw feat in Hamburg June 18 1976. When was the show you saw? I thin I remember a festival in Stuttgart - or at least seeing a poster about it…

  • @retaetna You weren't lying about the electrif lycanthrope concert. That's some of the best music I've heard in a long ass time. Thanks man.

  • RIP LOWELL

  • Was there a rule in the 70's where all bassists had to look like Phil Lynott? Fantastic song.

  • Pure genius sadly missed R.I.P lowell

  • The "spare part" percussionist is Sam Clayton, who's been an integral part of

Little Feat since their 3rd album, Dixie Chicken (1973)

  • Lowell..........We go up and we got down and we miss you.

  • Goddamn I miss that boy!

  • When you look up the expression "in the groove" in any online dictionary, there is a link to this You Tube video.

  • Monster groove love it love it love it!

  • How can there be 17 DiSLIKES?!!

  • @scottandkj

18 dislikes now. And I know the answer: 18 people don't know shit about music!

  • Check out the original album cover...it may be the coolest ever. George Washington driving Marilyn Monroe around in a drop top Cadilac...if I recall correctly. Genius...and a very sad loss so many years ago. RIP Lowell.

  • well, did the spare part percussionist get the same fee? MFR

  • I just can't figure out who makes this song and this band so good. Is it Lowell George, Paul Barerre, Bill Payne, Kenny Gradney, Sam Clayton, or Richie Hayward?

  • Amen !

  • Men this is so good I like it !

  • Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha , I just listened to Cher's version , she should be strung up

  • If they ever make a Lowell George biopic, it will clearly start Jack Black

  • Cher actually covered this...it is up here on the 'tube!

Be gentle when venting spleen in comments..he he!

  • Absolutely immense!! Everything about it, especially the slide guitar at 1:58

  • Two degrees in bebop, a Ph.D in swing, he's a master of rythym, he's a Rock n' Roll king.

  • Comment removed

  • What a groove!!!--Richie Hayward RIP

  • @peteryyz43 Richie is the reason I became a drummer. Tonight Richie popped up unexpectedly on youtube video footage of joan armatrading playing the Rockpalast. If you want to check it out it's Joan Armatrading - Mama Mercy (4/19/80). Made me smile from ear to ear - he had SO MUCH energy, and so much relaxed energy, it was insane.

  • @Bumptiously Thanks for the link man-will check it out pronto!

  • Seventeen people don't like good music like Little Feat!

  • Is that Phil Lynott playin bass????

  • @blowith Nope.

  • @FingersPlainview I was kidding

  • @blowith Cool..ya never know? I've seen dumber question! Peace.

  • why can't this go on for 25 minutes; it is perfect

  • @maida1982a what are you talking about, it hasnt stopped...

  • @maida1982a why can`t this go on FOREVER!!!

  • @maida1982a why cant this go on forever my friend !

  • Class act.

  • This is just to fuckin' cool!!! I fuckin' dig that wee fat bastard sooooooo much!!!

  • Always awesome to hear once more !

  • This is absotively posilutely in-fucking-credible!

  • Still sounds great 35 years on. The Greatest :)

  • These guys are ripe tomatoes......=)

  • Bass player bears quite a similarity to Phil Lynott

  • mid 70's, the Rainbow, London, Warner Brothers roadshow, Little Feat blow Doobie Brothers off the stage, THE gig of my life, thanks Lowell and the guys you'll live for ever.

  • @expatim - Saw the same tour in Hamburg germany!!! Showed cartoons in between bands

  • R.I.P. Richie, You will be missed..

  • @davidh2136 Richie was no doubt the best jam band drummer ever.

  • Great stuff!!

  • Cool song, cool video. Nice. =0]

  • Rock & Roll Gods !

  • It's great to read all the Feat love.

    They were giants.
