I prefer stick even if it's just for how much easier it is to rock a stick to jump it out of a hole or over something. Auto has some good advantages too but lol how many of those stalled Jeep's were automatics? I am sure at least 1 was

thanks it's a standard. i've owned a few cj2a's, 2 auto yj's and 1 standard yj, and my 6 speed jk. in my experence when your in a real off road situation it doesn't matter. your trans is in 1st gear and the transfer case is in 4low.

yes your right. allthough both have thier ups and downs for most off road a standard trans is the best way to go. the gearing is better, the control is better and you can also use your motor for breaking(compression brake).
