This is a weird game. I just played it, and i got into the woods and i found a broken tv on the ground, so i watched it, and then i found this girl in a white dress and we walked hand in hand back to the path.
I love it for being so deep and meaningful, and it can be interpreted in so many different ways.
The game itself is about growing up. And what you experience when you meet your "Wolf" is (in my opinion) a traumatic experience in the girls' process of growing up, not literally "death" as the videodescription says.
It is also freaking scary. I even had nightmares because of it! o___o Although nothing really happens.
This isn't a traditional scary game. It'd only be scary at first because of the soundtrack/sound effects. This is an atmospheric, interactive audiovisual art. Don't expect this to be a horror game.

Apparently the most plausible conclusions I've come up with, is that it's about growing up. The girls don't actually die. As most of the time when they end up at Granny's house at the end, they either look really depressed, or hung over.
The game is about life. If you stay on the path, you're life will be boring, and you won't learn anything.
The voice for this trailer kind of ruins it in my opinion. She's trying too hard to be mysterious and possibly even sultry and it just makes this look pretentious.
I think it's best to stay on the path and not encounter a wolf. I know it's open to interpretation, but everything else seems like a really Bad End to me...
@ForbiddenFruit73 The bad endings, are more than just bad endings, in a way each girl has a "wolf" or something that well happen to her, one gets raped, one drowns etc. It's the themes in the game that are meant to come through strongly hence why the only game play is to find things and to run?walk around until you find a wolf. It's just a very very deep game, quite literally.

Playing against zombies is fun... defensless int he woods, alone, from the eyes of a little girl (ish), this game gave me real tension! The wolf was sort of terrifying since I did not have any weapons to shoot it with.

hate it when people moan about games if they haven't got enough gore or jump scenes in them SCREW THAT, actually this is better instead of using cheat ways like the ones your talking about, some of them don't even give an atmosphere. Anyone who disses this game, didn't play it at night with headphones, or are dense . Games like Dead Space or Fear for example dint even began to scare me, but this game and it's atmosphere felt so claustrophobic and overall scary, made me stop playing after one girl success not because of boredom because i just felt my heart couldn't take it anymore

@EternalFunreal The soundtrack is now available from Paradigms Recordings, although few CDs have been made, so you might want to order now. And yes, you could probably wait a couple of months until some jerk loads it on a torrent site, but if you love The Path, support the artists!
This game scares me every time I play it, especially at the end when you're walking through endless hallways, the mood is pretty quiet and eerie then suddenly a THUD when the girl falls down.

This Game is one of those games that gives you hibby-jibbies, The graphics is not on it's best but the feel of the game is fair, the controls are dull as heck since i spend more time turning and running bluntly makes it futile, i would love to see what this weird game would do to the mind of an average person. Me for one part felt odd, dizzy and had a slightly urge go out and have the soundtrack playing loudly as i go around in the darkness of the streets... what is what i do when im bored. 5/10

I would like a refund for this game. The demo is completely deceiving: it makes the game appear similar to the nightmare scenes in Max Payne, so I bought the game.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Once you buy the game you find out you have to spend hours wandering around a forest to find objects. Literally hours. There's no clear route either. Imagine GTA in a forest looking for cans. That's it.
Complete waste, read reviews, people either love it (fake reviews?) or hate it.

I downloaded the demo, intsalled it, and after 5 minutes playing, I almost cryed from laughting. You start the game with a little weird girl on a road in the middle of a dark forest, and you walk... walk...walk... and walk... and finally you reach a house, and that's all!!! OMG and the authors want money for this "GAME"?!?!?!?!?
I thought it was a pretty... interesting game. I ran through it with all 6 girls going to their designated... black out spots...
The game doesn't show anything but it makes a lot of suggestions. A lot. And considering these girls all look really young, well, lets say they just got off on mass market lolicon without any action.
The end scenes at the house were confusing, but ironic in how they suggested to what they each experienced while blacked out.

The demo is designed to give you the "feel" of the game, it's not a part of the whole game even though it says it's a prologue. You could collect all the flowers if you want. If you didn't like the demo, then you probably wont like the game.
Strictly speaking, no. Nothing *really* happens in this game, especially the demo. It's best to think of it as a sort of grotesque version of the Sims. By that, I mean that the game essentially plays itself, although you may control where the character walks. It's all sort of an interactive painting, if you will, all atmosphere with only mild gameplay. The game itself is based loosely upon the most ancient sources of the "Red Riding Hood" story, which emphasizes maturity and budding sexuality.
i really wouldnt bother with it. it has the most confusing controls ever, stupid lines popping up over your screen with no indication of what they mean, items which you "interact" with, it just shows a picture of it, then you try to get away and you are just stuck staring at a picture so you mash the keys and finally escape. repetitive music, boring gameplay. its a really boring game, the area is pretty big but you move really slowly, even though the it claims you can run by holding shift

Run around the woods, find flowers and objects, confront your demons (wolves), and get home just in time for supper with grandma. *smirk* All while being creeped out by various noises, an eerie soundtrack, the setting within the dark forest, and the various colors changed when you reach your "destination" or "landmark".
Creepy game. Long time before you ever do anything, but it certainly keeps you guessing.
When i started playing, i felt kind of confused as to whether i should be sad, scared, or calm-- but i was stuck with a feeling of bewilderment most of the time. it's an indescribable experience, fosho.
Some of the implications it makes during certain scenes really creeps me out, though. The music is really well done. All in all, it's terrifying. *Yet*, it's one of the first games that truly terrifies me without actually trying to be scary. ya dig? I recommend.

I would like a refund for this game. The demo is completely deceiving: it makes the game appear similar to the nightmare scenes in Max Payne, so I bought the game.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Once you buy the game you find out you have to spend hours wandering around a forest to find objects. Literally hours. There's no clear route either. Imagine GTA in a forest looking for cans. That's it.
Complete waste, read reviews, people either love it (fake reviews?) or hate it.

Hmmm the game allows you to do lots of exploration, no enemies, no "game over", story pretty open to several interpretations...

I downloaded the demo, intsalled it, and after 5 minutes playing, I almost cryed from laughting. You start the game with a little weird girl on a road in the middle of a dark forest, and you walk... walk...walk... and walk... and finally you reach a house, and that's all!!! OMG and the authors want money for this "GAME"?!?!?!?!?

I thought it was a pretty... interesting game. I ran through it with all 6 girls going to their designated... black out spots...
The game doesn't show anything but it makes a lot of suggestions. A lot. And considering these girls all look really young, well, lets say they just got off on mass market lolicon without any action.
The end scenes at the house were confusing, but ironic in how they suggested to what they each experienced while blacked out.

okay wtf why is my character being pumped full of werewolf semen? this game is weird, i keep hearing some fat guy wheezing into a mic as i pick flowers and place them into a bucket full of urine (they grow into smw beanstalks) and it sounds like everyone you're hit you're having rough sex i think someone has vested interest if you knwo what i mean

The demo is designed to give you the "feel" of the game, it's not a part of the whole game even though it says it's a prologue. You could collect all the flowers if you want. If you didn't like the demo, then you probably wont like the game.

Strictly speaking, no. Nothing *really* happens in this game, especially the demo. It's best to think of it as a sort of grotesque version of the Sims. By that, I mean that the game essentially plays itself, although you may control where the character walks. It's all sort of an interactive painting, if you will, all atmosphere with only mild gameplay. The game itself is based loosely upon the most ancient sources of the "Red Riding Hood" story, which emphasizes maturity and budding sexuality.

i really wouldnt bother with it. it has the most confusing controls ever, stupid lines popping up over your screen with no indication of what they mean, items which you "interact" with, it just shows a picture of it, then you try to get away and you are just stuck staring at a picture so you mash the keys and finally escape. repetitive music, boring gameplay. its a really boring game, the area is pretty big but you move really slowly, even though the it claims you can run by holding shift

well, I'll tell you what will happen if you STAY on the path: you'll get to grandma's house (1 minute and you're there) and you'll fail, cause you won't accomplish the things you have to do...not staying on the path :)

Run around the woods, find flowers and objects, confront your demons (wolves), and get home just in time for supper with grandma. *smirk* All while being creeped out by various noises, an eerie soundtrack, the setting within the dark forest, and the various colors changed when you reach your "destination" or "landmark".
Creepy game. Long time before you ever do anything, but it certainly keeps you guessing.

When i started playing, i felt kind of confused as to whether i should be sad, scared, or calm-- but i was stuck with a feeling of bewilderment most of the time. it's an indescribable experience, fosho.
Some of the implications it makes during certain scenes really creeps me out, though. The music is really well done. All in all, it's terrifying. *Yet*, it's one of the first games that truly terrifies me without actually trying to be scary. ya dig? I recommend.
