It should be gua. Most of ng- in middle Chinese is g- in Hokkien, and the ng- is preserved in Hakka(as ngai) and Cantonese(as ngo), and is gone in Mandarin. But this g- is disappearing in Taiwan and perhaps also in Singapore (This may result from the influence from Mandarin since there's no g- in Mandarin)
