As I see it Freemasonry is an organization that has Christian roots and whenever you join the Masonic society aren't you supposed to swear an oath to both God and the Masonry brotherhood?

I have another question for you: I know a guy who is a mason but is agnostic (someone who neither confirms nor denies the existence of God). I understand where you said freemasonry is a system of morality yet how can you belong to an organization like this and have a questionable religious faith? As a layperson myself, It seems like this is a slap in the face to freemasonry. How can a person like this even be allowed in? To me, it's odd!

My grandfather was a Mason but he died in the middle 40"s. He wore the ring of the Masons. My grandmother wore the ring of the Morning Star but never would say anything about it. I'm not sure what to think now but I need to do research.
