FYI, Georgia is a U.S. ally, the country gets hundreds of millions of dollars in economic and military aid. US lobbies for Georgia to be admitted to NATO and EU.

Ever heard of atheist, who don't give a damn what some old at least partially fictional book tells them? Ever noticed that the Old Testament was written by jews? Maybe the God giving Abraham the land of Israel stuff was made up to justify the jews claims on Canaan or what ever it was called back in those days. Not everyone believes it is so because it is written. In fact to allot of people, especially in the West, that would be considered backward.

Why wouldn't I care? I don't really get your point, but I'll answer anyway.

The main reason is that it is a source of conflict between the West and muslims. There is a risk that if Israel starts a conflict with, for instance, Iran, or vice versa, we all risk of getting dragged into war. The worst thing is that that conflict might go nuclear.

I did not blame Israel for the 'clash of civilisations', I said they were a (possible) source of conflict. A SOURCE not the source. If you can't comprehend that muslims generally hate what is happening in Palestine, and they blame among others the West for helping Israel. BTW this is not just my idea, the ex-chief of staff to Colin Powell says the same thing. Watch the VPROInternational channel, some very good dutch documentaries about Israel. Very confusing. First we hear about an "Arab army" under T E Lawrence fighting for Arab independence, but in actuality it was a raiding force. Secondly, it was the British Army that conquered Palestine, not this small Arab force. Thirdly, most Arabs supported the Muslim Ottoman Empire because the Caliph declared the Ottoman war against the Christian Allies to be a Holy War, so most Arabs were actually on the other side. So how can it be said that the "British betrayed the Arabs"?
