  • people saying you nust need to get 1 raven with your army are missing the point. How many times have we seen baneling landmines that marines are just lucky enough to pass by far enough away, now the zerg just moves them under the marines if he even gets close. Not to mention the harrass potential this gives. Even if they are burrowed and you have a turret its not going to show up on your minimap when they roll into your expo

  • Op? QQ? Just get ONE raven: problem solved. With all the dt rushers these days, spreading their dts and running away from scans, you should really stop wasting energy on that temporal detection (which could be used on MULES), and get the friggin' mobile detector. Protoss and zergs don't complain when terrans send a couple of banshees behind our mineral lines, we just get an obs/seer aa, get rid of the cloaked units and move on. And it's hive tech... what else could you possible ask?

  • everyone freaking out over how op this is has to realize that this is HIVE tech.  The only window where this is really "overpowered" in a straight up fight by the slightest is if the zerg rushes to hive which will really punish the zerg later on. By the time a regular zerg gets to hive tech, the opponent should have plenty of detection. imo, the DT or banshee are much more powerful than burrowed banelings.

  • @NaokiKatakura Idk man... banelings can wipe out enire armies of marines in the blink of an eye whereas other units such as banshees and dt's take way more time than this (they got no splash damage).

  • yeah they'll be OP if your opponent is going mass marines without detection in the late game. If you scout this, it'll be no problem dealing with burrowed banelings, just get a raven, a handful of missile turrets, and go heavy mech. There are counters to every unit in the game, and it's stupid to go around saying x is overpowered to y because it counters it.

  • I wonder if they will have an autodetonate function on the banelings to blow up when something comes near. If not it'll be close to the same as having banelings burrowed right now, you'll have to be watching them to be able to blow them up where the army is, it's just a little more likely to work because you can follow them a little if you are going to miss the detonation.

  • That totally fucks up every build in the game and makes you put more tanks and dectors.... so overpowered even though i am a zerg player

  • @trekwars101 dude, an expansion is suppose to fuck up every build. And this is a hive tech upgrade, so it doesn't affect anything till late game

  • To everyone bitching about bling speed. If you hadn't noticed, the blings had the speed upgrade. Upon burrowing I'm almost certain that said upgrade will become ineffective as they won't be rolling under the dirt.

  • This will be strong against all races you fuckin zergs. Even yourself. Run 25 of these undetected and kill an expansion with workers. This will even piss off ZvZ. So OP especially at that burrowed speed.

  • You dont see often terran going for Raven in TvZ because zerg doesnt have that many burowed units, this forces terrans get a raven on their deathball. Simple as that.

  • @nickm34456 as terran you'll only need 1 raven with your army and 1 turret at each main entrance and a tank. Turret will detect and tank will kill the tunneling banelings.

    Also you can see burrowed units when they move the same way you can see cloaked its subtle but you can still see them.

  • This needs to be hive tech if their going to do that, like zergling attack speed, thats just too ridiculous, I mean, forget the, use it to bomb the enemy army, any good player will have detection, but even just ONE of these things will force protoss to make cannons, or zerg to have a detector / spine crawler and terran to have SOMETHING near their mineral line, you get 2 burrowed banelings in there without them noticing, and you just won the damn game. lol econ damage ftw...

  • Lol, I'm a Zerg player, and I really think this is waaaaay too OP. Imagine a bunch of marines just parked in the middle of the map, ready to attack... no Ravens, as usual (terrans usually rely on scan for detection). Just move your banes in there... GG. Not even need to fungal them, with this kind of stuff xD

    Either they remove this ability, make them move really slow or... a lot of terrans are going to QQ like hell

  • @MrRicardoChango That style of pushing is really a mid game push. Late game TvZ often involves turrets with the push. Plus, investing in a raven is not too much to ask for by the time zerg gets hive tech.

    I can see this being good for allowing builds like 2 base straight into hive tech to use burrowed banelings to control map, then into expansions and other tech. Considering that the infestation pit can be used for both viper and hive tech, while can potentially allow zerg to defend till hive

  • @MrRicardoChango Even if you are a zerg player you have to realize where your logic is false. All a terran has to do is get one starport with a tech lab easy. Not only that, but they can put turrets up anywhere and scan added plus, the radar that scv's can put up so either way even if the units are burrowed it's not like it will be easy for the zerg player to get anywhere. Also, marines are just about the most OP thing there is in the game. Terran needs to be nerfed more I think.

    Obliviously the meta of the game will be different in HotS and the Terran army wont move out until they have a few Ravens. Also with the new units to Terran they maybe more inclined to go mech rather then bio which makes banelling not the best option to go.

  • @MrRicardoChango terran has like 4 ways to detect, where other races have 2, and terran didn't ever even need to have a permanent detection. and i if you have 100 marines "parking" somewhere on the map, in the late game -where you can only get this baneling upgrade- you already should have been punished twice for being that bad with an easy race as terran! :/
