Just watched the show South Dallas Pop on channel 13, PBS last night all about SoulTex Records and it's foundersm and the South Dallas Funk/Pop Festival that took place after Woodstock '69, and the Texas Music Festival. Great show, and my admiration is extended to all the musicians involved! Thank you for posting this!
y'all call him Mr. Averheart but this man was my father. He took me and my sister in and took care of us like his own I miss him everyday. I still cry to this day the only thing that makes me happy is knowing hes in a better place.
I recently found out that Mr. Averheart passed away, rest his soul. My farther purchased the Averheart motel in the mid 80's when i was 16 and had fond memories of him. And\now I realize that he was one cool cat. will be missed dearly.
