it is good to have your fig tree grown in a pot because you can put it in "shock" to grow more fruit to survive. Put it in the dark for 2-4 days in the dark, no water , no light. It thinks that it will not survive, and will produce more fruit to survive in the gene pool of figs. Basically trying to survive on through newer plants, seeds. But in reality, your just tricking it, and eating them
I rooted some 7 inch cuttings in February and by August I had a 5 foot tree covered in figs. I live in Alabama, but the rate of growth was unbelievable. The now 3 year old bushes were loaded this past year and most of the figs were eaten by animals. The variety is a type of Brown Turkey.
Do you live in Israel please? Could you tell me when Christ Jesus made the fig tree wither in Jerusalem, were the Fig trees in villages producing fruits? Fig tree had plenty of green leaves.
Fig trees grow quite far north, and fresh figs in August are such a treat.
To provide your whole neighbourhood with fig trees, if you already have one, just put the feb-march clippings in a bucket with some water. They root really easily, and if you put it in your front yard, neighbours can take the clippings and plant them and in 3 years or less have trees like this.

Fig trees like to grow next to foundations of buildings due to the dryness underneath.

from the clipping in the bucket to figs is 3 years, as I have done it.
