Poles always aspired to be Western not Eastern and they were the first country to reject socialism for this reason. The Solidarity movement circa early 80s. But as the WW1 and WW2 and the wars before come Germany steal a lot of these goods from Poland each time when Poland was taken over by Germany they steal these goods and no wonder Germany was getting so powerful. Beside that, Poles made a great contribution to the western countries in the WW2, however the "allies" sold Poland in Yalta to the soviet Russia. Now it's very rare that people rember that, and West is proud of its heroic fight lol.
