  • The faculty at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY is comprised ot 70% part-time faculty. The college administration has a policy where adjunct instructors are precluded from employment if they are teaching at another higher education institution. In other words, the administration at Marist College is concerned that faculty will organize and wants to prevent adjunct instructors from piecing together full time employment by working at more than one college. Very intrusive.

  • Good work. Interesting little piece.

  • See the video on my channel. We are not alone.

  • Excellent--more articles need to be written about this in the mainstream media--I don't think most people know that most university classes are taught by adjuncts with no benefits and no job security. It's temporary labor for the well educated--and it ends up meaning that all the money we spent for these Ph.D.'s will never be cost-effective--in fact, now I think I was crazy to spend this much money on a Ph.D. and specializing in teaching and research! It's simply not cost effective.
