Go into any mobile phone shop and ask what the "fair usage" is on a plan, they will tell you something like 500 meg and nobody generally uses more than that. They really don't like having to tell you it's £2-£3 per MB after the first half gig. Is why I got a pay+go O2 tarriff that gives me 500mb internet and unlimited texts when I top up each month, it's about half to a third what a contract would cost and I just bought my own unlocked n97 for it. Once I use 500mb up thought, topup burns fast.

I think AT&T Data plan is really unfair. Some subscribers doesnt need it since u can use the WIFI anyways, but still they require it in all their smartphones. And the total byte sizes on their plans are also too small, its 98% possible for anyone to go over the data allocations they bundle with the plans. I would say that if you don't get it resolved a) switch carriers b) get a less techie phone c) if you really feel that this is on them, you can talk to a lawyer if they don't respond, and if you don't have a case d) start selling stuff. It's not an impossible situation, it just sucks.

If you look at the date this was posted att didn't start enforcing their data plan requirement until november 2009. This video was posted november 2007. It is quite possible that the data plan was somehow removed. And in response to the person who said to get the unlimited data plan. they don't have it anymore and you can't get it anymore. Plus they can't backdate into a bill cycle that has already closed.
