Don't temp to have miss communications because it can scare western people away which at least it's for Americans including me. It can scare me away, too. So my advice to you is... be fluent with Japanese if you want to date Japanese girls so I won't get scared anymore.

extra tip. there are a few groups that have what are called `international friendship parties` out here in japan. it is usually around 3000 yen to enter and they provide free drinks for about 3 hours. these are basically places where japanese women go to meet foriegn guys. if you want to meet a japanese girl this is probably one of the best situations you can put yourself in.

ofcourse, same as you say, every person is different.

...I have friends who go to clubs and sleep with a different woman every night. If that's what makes you happy, then Japan (and more specifically, Tokyo) is the place for you. If you're like me and want a real relationship, then that's going to take more time, but if that's what you really want, then don't give up.

@Randinelz huh? I was qouting public statistics about what women look for in ideal men, I don't see the bad thing in that? It helps show the differences in culture. For instance, the fact that women look so strongly for money in Japan, I assume is because many of them still plan on becoming housewife's (around 45% of women plan that, according to a different statistics), hence the income of their husband is very important.

Reserved is the word for it... And also it's just been the general nature of the people, it's a more Stoic environment. Not necessarily a "warm" vibe about it. lol But that's how it is. The Japanese have always had a sense of honor as well, self honor, etc. And that contributes to their more reserved nature.
Then the whole thing with looking stylish dates back a long, long, time ago. lol! Often reflecting an individuals status and so on.

The only way to GET any girl is to just be yourself, dont be fake. Just work with what you got, it's more how you carry yourself, your own sense of style and confidence. Two reasons:
1) I am well aware there are people out there who are actively searching for advice for getting a Japanese girlfriend. Not a girlfriend, mind you; specifically a JAPANESE girlfriend. This kind of video has an audience, and yet that audience by definition deserves to die horribly in a fire.
2) It reminds me of little things in Japanese culture, particularly rampant shallowness, that make my skin crawl and make me wonder why I'm bothering to study the language.

It should be a matter of dating people you like, though I suppose some might simply like traits that are more often found in Japanese culture.
