  • Wew thanks a lot dude.. You sounds like brad from paranormal activity 2.. But thank you for that!! That helped

  • but even when I do this, it doesn't record audio at all.

  • TAHNK U VERY MUCH

  • can you record your voice using a turtle beach

  • @JackChalky97 Almost all turtle beaches can connect to the computer, each one is just a little different. If you want, you can tell me which one you have and I'll tell you how to connect it, or if you google "how to connect (your headset) to a computer" there will probably be a guide there. After you have it connected properly, the mic should work.

  • this sucks just use hyper cam its HD

  • i want to make a gamplay of amnesia and have comentary in it what can i use to make a LP? pleas tell me what i can use

  • @117starpower This program will get the job done, but it won't be in the best quality, and in order to get the game sound you will need to have the audio come out of the computer so it can be picked up by your mic. A better alternative would be to record your commentary with a program like Audacity and record your game with a program like FRAPS then put the two together in a simple editing program, such as Windows Movie Maker.

  • can you record without your mic if you already have 1 built in

  • @MrRANDOM1100 Yes that should work.

  • @Kanarfka ok thx :D

  • how do you record sound?

  • @blueyoshi2000 This will not record sound directly from your computer, if that is what you are asking. If you want to do that, just search for free sound recording programs in google, and you will get a few.

  • it still doesnt record my voice! :(. I have pluged in my turtle beach to the computer and i know my mic works as i use it for xbox 360 and it just doesnt record my voice.

  • @MrTutKid Go to "Sound" (search it in the start menu) and check to see if your mic shows up under the "Recording" tab. If it is, see if the bar next to it reacts when you speak into it. Some turtle beaches do not work on the computer, though, such as the XLC, X31, and X41.

  • how do u record your voice so say you wanted to do a commentary how could you do that using snagit 5.0?

  • @MrTutKid Just follow what I say in the video. Plug your mic in, make sure it's working, and then when you are ready to record your voice just hit the microphone button that I show in the video.

  • I want to put sound in my computer -.-

  • can you record computer sounds without having it record the sounds of the stuff u do in ur room like recording the sounds while your watching a movie?

  • @CressAlbane If you are looking to record directly from your computer, then Snagit is not the way to go. This program only records sounds from a mic input. You can google "free audio recording program" or something similar to find free programs that record straight from the computer.

  • does it even play audio with xp cause im doing exactly what you do but it aint working

  • @megaspike1121 When you say play audio do you mean after you record it with a mic? This is supposed to just record input from a mic while recording your screen, nothing else.

  • @Kanarfka yes everytime im done recording with a mic the stuff I recorded with my mic didnt come out because there was no sound what do i do

  • @megaspike1121 Double check that your mic is inputting correctly. To do this, plug in your mic and go to "Sound" (search in the start menu). You should see your mic as an input. When you talk, it should show it by bar on the right moving. Also make sure that you have your mic set as the default device by right clicking on it.

  • i cant find that sound icon

  • Thank you!!!!!!!

  • Does this just record any sounds that are made on the screen? Like an mp3 or game sounds without a mic?

  • Sorry no is does not- you would have to download a computer sound recorder to get sound from games and such.

  • @Kanarfka

    Does this work on linux?

    Ubuntu to be exact. :)

  • @CaShLoveChef Sadly Snagit does not run on Ubuntu =(. Even worse there isn't even an exact alternative. If you are looking to take screenshots, Shutter is a program that does that well (shutter-project(DOT)org). Other than that, you are out of luck ='( Sorry

  • Is there a way i can record my microphone and my game audio with SnagIt?

  • Sorry but Snagit does not record audio from the computer, only from a mic input. To record your game sound you would have to download another program.

  • yea hey that video isnt realy helpful my microphone works fine and im using snag-it and my records are all quiet even to know i speak when im recording in the audio not heling bro...

  • Try something-

Go to "Start" and search "sound"

    Click "Sound" (Not sound recorder)

    Go to the recording tab

Make sure your microphone is selected as your input (it will have a green check next to it)

Talk into your mic, does the bar to the

     right move as you talk?

If so, then try recording again, and if it doesn't work, then I'm not quite sure what to tell you, but I can look into it.

  • it comes out fuzzy and crappy

  • Have you tried different mics? It is most likely your mic that is causing that issue.

  • thanks man

  • AWW shitballs....... I downloaded snagit 9.5 something fuck........

  • lets say im recording a video on another website...and i want to record the audio from that video not from myself or anything...how do i do that?

  • Snagit cannot record audio coming from a computer. It can only record audio coming from a mic that has been plugged in. If you have a mic, you can turn up the volume on your computer then put the mic next to it, but that might not turn out too well. Your second option is to download a free, simple, computer audio recorder (there are tons, just google it). Then you would edit them together in an editing program (Windows Movie Maker comes with Vista). Hope this helps.

  • ok, when i used snagit 5.0 and watched the vid, my voice was barely audible. did i do something wrong?

  • After plugging in your mic, go into your start menu (bottom left of screen) and search "sound". Click the sound link then go to recording. Your mic should be there with a volume/input bar to the right of the icon. Talk into your mic and see how far the bar is going up when you talk. If it is staying low, then find the option to turn your mic input up and increase it until the bar gets filled up about half way when you talk. Then you should be good. Let me know if it works or if you are confused.

  • mine mic is built into the laptop but i see what you mean. i did find levels tab in microphone options and i increased it to 100 but i still cant hear me very well.

  • Did the volume of your voice increase at all when you turned it up? If it did, it may just be the fact that the built in mic is not a very good one.

  • no it didnt. but whats weird is if i use the built in webcam i sound just fine.

  • Its probably your mic that you are using then. It might be broken or just be defective.

  • ah ok. well, thats good because i was plaining on buying a mic anyway. do have any recommendations?

  • I have a Logitech headset that plugs into a usb port. It works really well and its pretty cheap (around $30). Basically anything Logitech will be good as long as its not dirt cheap- those usually have bad quality and duribility. You can also google headsets to get reviews on different ones to find the one that suits you.

  • ah. thks for the help dood!

  • can i use a headset to make a tutorial or does it have 2 be a mic

  • As long as the headset has some sort of way to pick up your voice it doesn't matter. I actually use a headset for my videos.

  • Hi, I have a dell optiplex 740. Do you know what kind of pc microphone I need that will work with it, thanks.

  • I'm not too familiar with that kind of computer, but I can tell you right now that as long as you have a USB input you can use any mic that plugs in via USB. If not I'll look into it more.

  • mine says there is no audio input??

  • Do you have a mic or recording device plugged in and functioning?

  • i think its a nice tutorial. short and sweet

  • recording the computer sound or your voice??

  • the recording is taken from the microphone, so if you want just the audio of the sound from the computer you have to make sure the place you are in is very quiet

  • I think it's both.

  • HHmm...... is still the snagit 5 is still available??

  • Yes it is

  • my computer says that the snagit i am using is a free trial and that its time is up but i thought i downloaded the free 1 thats not a trial

  • Make sure that the Snagit you Downloaded is Snagit 5.0. 5.0 is an old version, but it still works. You probably downloaded one of the newer versions by accedent as a free trial. There are other videos on youtube that will show you where to go to get Snagit 5.0. Try redownloading it.

  • does it work on 9.0?

  • Does what work on 9.0? The microphone thing? Yes it does, if that is what you are asking. I myself haven't used 9.0 but I'm almost 100% sure it will.

  • how do u put sound in background like play music

  • Snagit itself is not an editing program (i.e. putting in music after you are done recording). If you want to put in some background sound or music, you will need to put your recording into an editing software (like windows movie maker, or iMovie) and then import something onto the audio track underneath your recording.

  • pls pls pls do you know how to make the snagit record music or sound of my pc? pls reply !

  • I'm sorry but Snagit 5.0 does not record audio from your computer- only the screen. One thing you can do is to just have your speakers on and loud enough (shouldn't have to be too loud) to have your mic pick it up. In a lot of videos that you see that have the computer sounds or music, it is from what their mic is picking up. It actually works pretty well. Let me know how this works for you, and good luck!

  • ya thats the problem i dont have a mic and like i want to record game sound or somethig like that and i cant.. is there a snagit not 5 other snagit 4321 that can record the sound?

  • O.K. There is one way that I think might work for you. You need to go into your sound menu (search "sound" in the start menu) and click recording and then right click then click "show disabled divices" and a new item should appear called "stereo". If you activate that, it will record, plus other recording options. There is a chance that this may not appear and I'm not sure why, but in that case you will need to look into some free, simple programs that you can download off of the internet.

  • Yep! That's all you need to do.

  • w00t! ty

  • thank u man

  • No problem! Thanks for watching!
