the ss t/c might beat the csrt4 to 60 mph, but it needs launch control and the no lift shift to do so. i own a csrt4 and have driven the ss t/c and, without a doubt the csrt4 will destroy the t/c from a roll at virtually any speed. the csrt4 sucks from a dig but really excels from a roll. from 40 - 100mph the ss t/c will have its work cut out for it. i dont hate or even dislike the ss t/c at all so, plz, no bad comments. i just they both have their strong points.
I'd take a Chevy Cobalt SS any day over the Dodge Caliber SRT-4. It's faster (0-60 in 5.4 vs. the Caliber's 6.3), lighter, gets better gas mileage, handles better, holds a record in the segment going around Nuremburg, and in my opinion looks better. Sure the styling is kind of boring but I kind of like that. No one knows that you've got serious power under the hood. that guy in the Audi A6 next to you will be shocked after you smoke him when the light turns green.
Yea I was so surprised how slow it is, its got huge power and goes like a civic si with only 197hp and no turbo (which I like). A cobalt SS driver will will race the A6, but its really and RS6 because it too is understated :D
its also showing that a caliber can handle snowy conditions, which a viper cannot, at all, vipers are my favorite cars but get temperatures under 40 degrees and the viper starts slippin around a little bit
In Europe they like american cars, in the US they like European cars. I hish there were mexican cars so all the world liked them haha. Peace and love for all the cultures........ And MOPAR rules!!
Better in quality, but not better in the price range. That's why I don't like European cars. Any European car above 240hp cost about $40,000 USD, it's ridiculous.
Its too bad Chevy forgot to put an engine in the Colbalt and HHR SS. BTW...look on youtube and you'll see a race between the Caliber SRT4 and the HHR SS and the HHR SS got its ass handed to it in a hand basket. Both vehicles are stock too. The Colbalt will no doubtly handle better, but I'm not so sure it will out run it.
Doubtful! Especially the HHR SS. The colbalt isn't very good looking either IMO. It looks like a standard Colbalt. At least the Caliber SRT-4 looks like its going to kick some ass. It has a completely new front and rear clip, different hood, completely different suspension, interior, drivetrain, etc. The colbalt is just a regular car with some larger wheels, different suspension and a turbo.
cobalt ss is better. the interior is cooler too. funny that dodge put the viper styled gauges in the csrt4 and i'd rather be scene in a cobalt than an suv with a "different hood" and "completely different interior". btw the cobalt ss has a better suspension than the csrt4
@macxpress although I agree with you and I own an 09 CSRT, the weight of the cobalt is kickass and I'm pretty sure they changed out a bit more than that with the cobalt. For one I know they changed out the exhaust system, and it's supercharged, not turbocharged.
put HID's on it and ur good

anyone else think this be a great rally car?

I have thought about that quite a bit. I drive mine daily up a winding dirt road to work, and it feels worthy.

the Si is also more tastefully designed than the SRT-4 both inside and out. and I agree with you about the RS6. it's a better match.
PIchillin456 2 years ago
@PIchillin456 yes but the RS6 is really not considered in this category of a vehicle
chainsawmanny 2 years ago
True but that's not really the point. The point is the Cobalt SS is damn fast for the price.

I love how they showed the car being tested in sleet and freezing rain. Thats almost comical! Its like testing a Viper in the snow.

european cars better in quality? LOL!!!
Have you seen the quality reports lately?
It's obvious that the Japanese is still on top of quality but surprisingly American cars are climbing up the charts.
Korean cars are also rising in quality. Guess who's sinking... that's right, european cars are piles of shit.
1. Japanese
2. American
3. Korean
1837326. european

Should have waited for the HHR SS or the turbo Cobalt SS, being that it has a way better suspension AND is a Chevy....Dodge FTL.
