The original Dave Mason recording of this song had a country panache in the guitar, so it was only natural for a county artist to record a toothless hillbilly version. However to say that Billy Dean out did Dave Mason is as nuts as saying Tony Bennett did better versions of Beatles' music!

This is a great cover. I definitely remember hearing this song on the country stations when I was a young boy in the 90s. In my opinion, that is my favorite era in Country music.

Way to ruin a classic. This song was written by Dave Mason's guitar player: Jim Krueger from Manitowoc, WI...and this is the tune that put Mason on the map. Jim later became a member of a novelty group called the Happy Schnapps Combo out of his hometown. Most famous for "The Bears Still Suck". Jim passed away in '93...hopefully before this wretched song was released.

Some songs just shouldn't be covered. This is one of them.
