Good cover to a 70's song, despite the cheesy video and "mullet". But he covers this song as good as anybody, in fact I think I like his version better.... just my humble opinion.
Is he going to stop and have a conversation and reminisce with every person in that line? I would have probably left if I were in the back of the line.
The original Dave Mason recording of this song had a country panache in the guitar, so it was only natural for a county artist to record a toothless hillbilly version. However to say that Billy Dean out did Dave Mason is as nuts as saying Tony Bennett did better versions of Beatles' music!
This is a great cover. I definitely remember hearing this song on the country stations when I was a young boy in the 90s. In my opinion, that is my favorite era in Country music.
Way to ruin a classic. This song was written by Dave Mason's guitar player: Jim Krueger from Manitowoc, WI...and this is the tune that put Mason on the map. Jim later became a member of a novelty group called the Happy Schnapps Combo out of his hometown. Most famous for "The Bears Still Suck". Jim passed away in '93...hopefully before this wretched song was released.
Some songs just shouldn't be covered. This is one of them.
WWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love this song. Billy dean too!
I think you missed the point, The Cady05. "There ain't no good guy. There ain't no bad guy." However, I just disagree with you, fellow "not so good, not so bad guy".
This guy has been to quiet for to long..I remember his music like it was yesterday-magic..I love lookin' up the greats from early 90's late 80's on youtube. what fun..Shenandoah, Neil Mccoy, Alabama love it. How fortunate was I to grow up in a time where their music blessed us all..music from the soul, not all the nigger bs..too much of that as it is..One of the greatest of all times-rock-on...
I saw him in concert shortly after this song was at its peak. He was amazing. Someone brought him up today and I just had to look him up and give him another listen. Still great.
"SO let's just leave it alone.cuz we can't see eye to eye. There ain't no good guy, there aint no bad guy.Theres only you and me and we just disagree." This is exactly the message i wanted to get across to the principals back when I was in junior and senior high XD LOL
I miss Billy Dean. I was lil when he was big. Now it's just a memory. I wish he would come back. I love His songs, especially "Billy The Kid", & "Trying To Hide A Fire In The Dark".

ah...late '80's early 90's country...good times...every once in a while I hear this song on a country station...most of the time its in the middle of the night
typical example of not messing with the original. the original was perfect. this guy did nothing but add some country twang and speed it up. and it's not great. if you can't do a remake that's better than the original, suck on your jew's harp write a new song
I like this version alot better. It's true, i did hear this one first, but after hearing David Mason's version, I didn't really like it. It has too much of a hippie sound in it.
I actually heard this version first and thought it was pretty good - but heard Dave Mason's version later and it blew this one away. I don't know why anyone would the remake is better.
I was listening to SIRIUS radio today, DJ for Prime Country led this song by saying, "There are very few really good song remakes...either they do it just like the original or try to make it too different...this is one of the best remakes ever made". He was right.
Lex L. just disagrees with everyone, and that earned him a permaban.
