@ch4m4l actually people do still eat the placenta exsp. If they breast feed. But I think it's more hippies that do cuz they believe in using everything. I saw a recipe for placenta spaghetti before

Interesting, I read somewhere the longer the baby is attached to the placenta afterbirth the longer he or she is allowed to absorb the nutrients.

It was hard for me to eat while I was watching this! Well, i shouldn't have been eating.
BTW, did you know the placenta is edible. many animals naturally eat the placenta to return and recycle nutrients into the body after pregnancy mode is over.
It is also becoming a natural practice that humans do this after they give birth. Really.
