The Dumbo Octopus is so graceful and mysterious in this video. I love the background music. At the end, isn't the plural for octopus octopi not octopuses? Just pointing it out there.
@VideoPictureBox Actually, using "octopi" is a common mistake based on the assumption "octopus" is from Latin. The correct form is actually octopuses. (Just learned that recently myself; check Wikipedia.)
Most people dont realize this is at the location of the deep sea volcanoes and tube worms with black billowing smoke called "smokers" and is off the northwest coast. That subduction zone is what then gives rise to the volcanoes that occur inland along the cascade range
It is some of the first movement of Piano Sonata No 14 in C# minor, Op. 27, No. 2 "Quasi una fantasia" by Ludwig van Beethoven, performed by Bryan Verhoye. It was not called "Moonlight" until five years after Beethoven's death.
Interesting to see this one emit "ink"! Love the creature! First saw it on tv, most likely a show on black smokers (another form of hydrothermal vent). All deep water videos, the ones showing life forms, are fascinating! Thank you for posting this one!
I always find these deep sea videos really cool because all you see it what you are filming and nothing else except a black background... maybe the first natural green screen(black screen)
What beautiful glimpse of our wonderful world.

It almost sounds like something from Chopin, but I can't be certain. It could be another Beethoven piece, since that's what he started with.
