  • Portal 2 the theme tune for the Co-Op bots!!!

  • curse when I lost a fight, kiss and reunite, scratch a spider bite.

    Great writing.

  • If OOOOOhnly could be humid.

  • This song is brilliant... and that robot is human simply because he dreams of these things. That yearning, the pursuit of happiness... it's a part of all of us.

  • This song resounds with what feels like a plea to have something that you don't or can't understand. The computer depicted wishes for everything, The perfect and the imperfect that comes with humanity, he doesn't know what he wants, just that he wants it, and he knows what it entails, but being a computer, he could not possibly know the weight that everything he wants comes with, It resounds with the "Count Every Second for the rest of my life" Lyric, heavily, Because that's a computer thinking.

  • @ViolentAlcoholic I love it because it shows the robot knows nothing about being a human and having a wife.

  • I freakin adore this song.

  • :´D beautiful....i love the robots

  • What a beautiful song. I'm almost crying because of it.

  • I love the part about having many babies and maybe a wife. Shows how much Scott Matthew is incredible as an artist. Wish there were people like him more often.

  • The fact that he sounds like Wheatley makes my heart break a little more. :'c

  • this song is trying to get people to apreciate life more

  • lmao the Carl's Jr. robot

  • Here's hoping you become human, you lovable X-Box 360

Great song, wish it was on the radio

  • Seriously, how great is this song? It's like an A.I. questioning what it means to be human in a very whimsical way. Definitely soft singularity.

  • ;__;7

  • Reminds me of iRobot and Sonny :)

  • この曲、攻殻機動隊のどの話で登場する?

  • Don't you all see...this song isn't sad at all. It's SUPER inspiring. He's a robot, yes, but he's wondering what it would be like to be human. I ask, what's more human, and victorious, than that?

  • @JabMesaIncrad You sir must be a Robot :) .....just kidding. But yes it is quite inspiring.

  • Dear God, just thinking about this song makes me cry a bit.

  • "Don't worry about dreaming, because I don't sleep..." (...)

  • seriously... can someone stop cutting onions in here. oh man this song is destroying me slowly.

  • I love the Tachikoma, any chance they had to themselves they wandered off into thoughts of being human. This song makes me tear up real bad

  • Makes me think of the Mars rover Spirit.

Welp, I just made myself cry.

  • these dudes sound soo much like Ween its not even funny man

  • I want to make a robot feel better ! :D They deserve to be human

  • This makes me wanna hug a robot

  • Very nice song

Makes me think again about what makes me happy, what makes me sad, and what makes me a human.

and makes me a little envy of the robots....

  • This song is so awesomely symbolic, but so sad.

  • dont worry bout dreaming......

  • .. this song rulez..

  • Very befitting of Ghost in the Shell to me.

  • can someone please send me this song. when i first heard it a single tear came out. it's so moving

  • This song was written to show the greatest irony of the series.

The robots (Tachikomas) wanted to be more like humans (hence the song), while the humans tried to be more like robots.

The Tachikomas always seemed to think the humans were crazy for trying to become more like them because they viewed their life of specialized perfection as a curse. The humans though the Tachikomas were crazy for wanting to be human because they saw their emotional attachments and physical limits as a weakness.

  • This is very much a Pinocchio Complex type of song...

it's theme is an obvious reference to the Tachikomas...

GITS looks into the concept of a nascent sentience in such a way as I haven't seen since H. Beam Piper's Fuzzy Papers...

    it's truly fascinating!

  • This song is so sad...

even things we hate, any one who isn't 'haman' would long for...

nightmares, broken bones, bug bites, crying and so on...

  • This would go beautifully with i, Robot as well <3 Made me feel like a robot just listening..i mean that in a good way..i like seeing from other perspectives.

  • this song is a rare treasure that has the capacity to touch our inner most selves..its a shame its so obscure

  • This is possibly one of the best songs ever composed, sang and created.

  • This song really does make you realize how much you take for granted.

  • When I die, will I see heaven?

  • maybe.

  • Kinda makes you consider all the things we can do as humans that we take for granted.

  • this is a beautiful song indeed. Incredible tunes combined with deep lyrics with a touch of philosophy inside.

    be Human!

  • @chira00chira So true and its telling you to enjoy your life as human and don't take anything in this world as something a little like drit

  • @shortybynature052001 and also be happy with the wrinkles you have when you smile. ^_^

  • this song is.........awesome....

  • Oh...this song reminds me "The Bicentennial Man" a bit...

  • this song is so beutiful,

it reminds me of everyhting that makes like so wonderful.

it make me wants to cry.

  • I know what you mean. Same feeling here. This easily became one of my favorite songs. Makes me want to cry, but not really in a sad way.

  • I really ike this song!!

But sometimes I wonder why Tachicomas ever want to be human. It's OK if they dont have ghosts in them, just be yourselves! This question links directly to Oshii's "Innocense" theme. No wonder in the movie Tachikomas don't show up.

  • It's also because the Tachikomas were in the SAC universe, not the non-SAC universe.

  • lyrics:

"...If I only was more human

I would count every single second the rest of my life

If I just could be more human

I'd have so many little babies and maybe a wife"

    epic XD

  • maybe we should do it to all people (turn them into that thing), so they would appreciate life just a bit 100%▐▐▐

  • Such a beautiful song......

  • For anyone who hasn't already done so,listen closely to all the lyric's. This song is......rather quite sad. And it gets you thinking..........

  • I want to hear David Bowie sing this.

  • Sympathy for robots :(

  • This is such a deceptive song, it's so gentle and calming, but if you pay attention to the lyrics, it's really pretty sad. Genius, like everything else from Kanno.

  • @EyeOfTheDragonfly Yoko put on a concert featuring these songs and musicians in 2007. I'd be surprised if there was a dry eye there. I know I'd be a perfectly beautiful emotional wreck.

  • @EyeOfTheDragonfly

    Sad? how so?

  • this is nice. Yoko is sooooo amazing

  • I saw that epsoide when Batou and Motoko vs. and it was funny. At the end when Motoko look at her left hand and see a watch. Its so weirdest thing I did somehow Im left-handed and look at the screen and start looking at her handed and follow it at same time without looking my hand creepy.

  • You want "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex"

The anime is "ghost in the shell" it had two movies between 1998 and 2005.Then they decided to make "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" which has two series and a movie and is essentially a seperate timeline to the first two movies and manga.

  • Well, I guess I wasn't very clear; I meant what episode of GitS: SAC was this from?

  • ha, sorry

  • this song is from the album" Be Human " which Yoko Kanno created specialy for the Tachikomas. Some of them are unreleased in the TV series.

  • I know what epsiode it's from! ^_^ It's fomr the episode called, "Missing Herats" of the first season. Plays before the credits when the major "fights" Batou and hacks into his brain so he punches himself. Veyr funny and its where I first heard the song, love it to death

  • Episode 8.

  • Awesome song! I don't know much about the anime, is the episode of the same name? If not, what episode is it?
