Actually, that's not the case. The Amiga lost out because Commodore refused to promote it or update the original 1985 hardware (until AGA in 1992, but even that was hardly enough of an improvement), and because PCs were (and still are) cheap and easy to keep up-to-date with hardware upgrades. The worst part is that there were THREE new Amiga chipsets that were ready for production BEFORE AGA, but the idiots running the company ignored them in favor of raising their own salaries.
Proof of my point: in 1987, IBM released the PS/2, which had 256-color graphics (16 at high resolution), support for high-quality Roland and SoundBlaster sound cards, and a national advertizing campaign. Apple released the Macintosh II, which had the same advantages as the PS/2, but with higher-resolution graphics. Commodore released... the 500, which had 32-color graphics (if you wanted them to move) and a four-channel, 8-bit sound chip.
@Stopmotionist As usual the pictures were in that mode but also used in some games mainly on The Backround.
The Colours here were using that i have heard that a Looong time ago that it used hunderets of shades in the backround ,that were changing so smooth so you could almost could not tell the difference in between when one colour started and changed with the next.
Uh, no, the pictures aren't in HAM mode at all. And the "huderets of shades in the backround" are generated by a simple copperlist, a technique that almost all platform games on the Amiga used anyway. Actually, Seven Cities of Gold used it back in 1985, when the Amiga was originally released.
@Stopmotionist Yup that has to be it ,thanks i knew that i heard it from somwhere,I am ortunate and old enough to be playing lots of Amiga games back at that time :)

One of the Best Shoot em up games Ever !
The Music was awesome and it was in Ham mode with thousands of colours when the PC usually had EGA 16 colours or VGA at 256 colours at most

I very much doubt this..

sadly, it's true.
Amiga was years ahead of it's time, the PC only won by marketing and being advertised better.
The lesser known commodore amiga was WAY more functional, but labelled as a gaming "non serious" computer, and eventually unjustifyably ignored.

And you wonder why the Amiga failed.

HAM mode? What are you talking about? There's no way that this game is in HAM mode.

HAM mode isn't anywhere in this game at all.

@Stopmotionist ok i guess what i heard they said at that time for these games was Hype .
Realmasterorder 1 year ago
@Realmasterorder
The only mention of HAM mode in relation to this game "at that time" was in the August 1990 issue of Computer and Video Games. One magazine ≠ "Hype".
