  • Fuck meeeeeeeeeeeee....amazing engine sound!!!! d-.-b :O

  • i love the sound it makes between shifts or when he lets off the accelerator. is that a blow off valve? what is it that makes that pengiun sounding whistle

  • @TwoGlock9s That fluttering sound is called compressor surge. It's a result of the highly compressed air being forced back into the turbocharger's compressor when the throttle body is closed. Having a blow-off valve prevents this from happening, and instead lets the compressed air out all at once which gives a "chhh" sound.

  • D1GB i thought it was D1GP

  • @Nathworrall12 maybe it was cause it was the british round

  • 2jz no shit....

  • lol @ 02:08-02:15 wtf! lol

@07:36-07:40 is soo funny to me...his voice is funny...tht last exhale lol

  • he hand braked clutch kicked and came off the clutch and was still had the back wheels locked up

  • tiff needell is a faggot gay type thingy...look at 2:07 for proof,....!!!

  • 08:51 seconds tiff pulls handbrake without clutching resulting in snapped drive shaft remember always 'clutch then wand' simples ;)

  • my baby driving omg Xd

  • i love all the computer chair drifters. If you really do drift, you don't troll drift videos telling them what they're doing wrong. bahahahaa

  • 5:01 2step failure

  • The corner that Tiff said that you need hand brake .. You Don't.

Drive with second gear..In the clutch let the revs down..At the entering of the corner lift the clutch..its same as handbrake ... :)

  • Formula drift is better

  • TOYOTA FTW!

  • Pittt'd'Touvvvvvvv

    haha Awesome Turbo music

  • Tiff can't drift?!?!? WTF?! I bet if he had a little more time he would master it. That one run was very nice though, he even clipped the grass with the front wheel. Tiff, your still a bad ass. :)

  • DAT DOSE

  • 6:20.. the "expert", he's referring to keichi tsuchiya haha ledgee

  • I would be pissed if that was my car

  • Pls correct me if I'm wrong,, he did a clutch kick while on ebrakes. dat busted d drivetrain.

  • @davidcarlo16 Ya, i thought that as well....

  • @davidcarlo16 I believe you are correct, good catch!

  • Tiff should stop breaking other people's cars.

  • tiff used to be a formula one driver. nuff said.

  • what is that noise everytime he shifts? BOV? sounds to crazy to be one but tell me if im wrong

  • @sgcwproductions1 its the blow off valve, also sounds like a compressor surge

  • i need that sound, what blow-off valve is it?

  • @samkonetsky its not a blow off valve. u want that sound just remove ur bov and put a stainless steel pipe on the mouth of your turbo ull get that sound.. its turbo flutter echoed through a pipe.... 90% drift/race cars dont use bov because of losing gas through the bov everytime you lift off gas... look it up..

  • @NRIautos i have done so, love that sound just need the car now lol

  • GO THE SOARER! n everyone says they can't drift!

  • haha whoever said clarkson is the better drifter is an idiot. tiff is the cats pyjamas at drifting, clarkson just slides about in 4wd cars with ASM and TCS lolz, like with that fez he just epic failed with the tcs off

  • @NewRomantic4 somebodys been playing too much gran turismo. or forza!

  • @NewRomantic4, Clarkson says himself, Tiff is the best at car control.

  • Something tells me Jeremy Clarkson would do it much better.

  • @Bjornar86 Nope. tiff is 10x the driver.

  • @Lesserthannone Yes, perhaps he is 10x the driver, but not drifter as they do nothing else on the Top Gear Test Track :P

  • @Bjornar86 tiff can outdrive jeremy any day, Clarkson is more entertaining though

  • @flystagg clarkson has said many times how much he admires Tiff's driving ability

  • @Bjornar86 Jeremy Clarkson needs to be coached on how to drive on every episode which is why they nicely edit out his mishaps. Tiff Needell on the other hand used to race professionally and has so much more driving skill.

Tiff Needell is a driver first then a journalist second.

  • @Bjornar86 No he won't.

  • @Bjornar86 POWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • 03:20 po lewej widać auto Macieja Polodego :P

  • that was actully a very nice run ha .and damien mulvey and darren mac in it fair play ha

  • thats all apart of the game, sometimes thing just don't work out!!!

  • Awesome car indeed!!!

  • that guy is such a dick! i cant stand his voice. hektik car but

  • that guy is such a dick! i cant stand his voice

  • I love my Toyota Soarer on GRID, but I cannot believe he broke the car. It's so much easier to drift if you relax.

  • that looks like the funnest thing ever

  • lol why would the hand brake break. think it would be strong givin its a purpose built drift car...

  • lol why would the hand brake break. think it would be strong givin its a purpose built drift car...

  • gay... its wet

  • some people are just plain ignorant about drifting like wow its a very difficult motor sport its not like drag racing

  • I feel sorry for the engine in that soarer...-_-

  • @libinls. Ever drifted? Obviously not or you would know that unless your on or near rev limiter you won't pick up road speed. And as for over clutching, clutch kicks are essential or the car will start to bog down and sometimes you need to do it to get a sharp transition. Drifting is the hardest thing a car could ever endure and that guy was pretty gentle on the car for his first time out.

  • I COULD DRIFT!!! I COULD DRIFT!!!

  • its on ebay!!

    Item number: 280574671250

  • fucking broke a nice ass car. dumb brit

  • 8:53, he was on the handbrake way too early. No steering and then again, redline the crap out of the car.. ( as u can hear the d-valve noise)..and i hated how he said "now something broke on the bloddy car!"

no sht itll break cause he redlined the living daylights of the poor thing..plus over clutching =/

  • Sweet never knew julian smith was was on 5th gear! Go Garage D

  • tiff is the man

  • sweet

  • his one good run was pretty decent, to be fair.

  • I used to work for D1GB. for those thinking its a 1j.. its not, this soarer was running 2JZ-GTE with Trust T78.. here is sma engine spec if anyones interested: Toyota 2JZ-GTE transplant from Mk4 Supra TT, HKS Stroked Engine (3100cc), HKS Pistons/Rods/Crank HKS 272 cams, in/ex HKS 1.2mm headgasket Trust T78 Turbo kit HKS External Wastegate (GT Type) with external screamer pipe HKS 680cc injectors HKS Cam Pulleys HKS 5 Bar Map Sensor HKS F CON V-Pro ECU & Loom (mapped by Mr Ito - Do-Luck)
  • what type of body kit does that sc300 or sc400 have?

also is that a type of blow off valve he has or is that compressor surge? dont know the difference can someone school me hahah please and thanks

  • @Radaman420 im not sure what body but the body looks fairly simular to the Supra (MK4) body. The body structure layout seems to fit perfectly with all the parts the supra puts out (factory/stock). it shares similar traits. dont take my word for it though.

  • @RobertMoua Same floorpan. I own a JZZ30 Soarer, and lined up next to my mates JZA80 Supra, they are almost exactly the same dimensions. Also many aftermarket parts are interchangeable (i.e. Ive used lots of parts for the JZA70 Supra's 1JZ-GTE, and bolt ons such as my front mounted intercooler kit are compatible between the Soarer and Supra)

  • A Soarer probably isnt the easiest car to learn to drift in so props to tiff in that respect

  • cmon the irish drifters, 100 years of sideways action.

  • definitely a beast!

  • lol full throttle?!?! i guess he just was to dumb to know feathering the throttle

  • Tiff Needell!!! He can make ANYTHING go sideways

  • SUPER COOL VIDEO THANKS

  • Der JZZ30 hatte den 2,5 l-R6-Turbomotor 1JZ-GTE. Anfangs hatte er zwei kleinere Turbolader

    Der JZZ31 hatte den 3,0 l-R6-Motor 2JZ-GE

  • i hate crankshaft sensors :-/

  • Wow gotta love that 2JZ! I love the sound of the bov!

  • @JulianoRamirez

    i think it's a 1JZ ^^

  • @size91 How can you tell? o.O

  • @JulianoRamirez

cause normaly the Soarer has a 1JZ..i had one before my lexus is. look at my channel for the lexus

  • @size91 They come with 2JZs to but they're only the GE, no turbos.

  • @JulianoRamirez

    mh..

Der JZZ30 hatte den 2,5 l-R6-Turbomotor 1JZ-GTE. Anfangs hatte er zwei kleinere Turbolader

    Der JZZ31 hatte den 3,0 l-R6-Motor 2JZ-GE

  • @JulianoRamirez

    the soarer uses a1jz

  • @coldinfusion the soarer has to different types of engine a 2jzgte 6cyl n a 1jz v8

  • @phill2489

    lol you moron

    it has a 1JZ-GTE 6cyl (inline 6)

    and a 1UZ-FE 8cyl (v8)

the 2JZ-GE non turbo was used in later soarer models

the 2JZ-GTE was used in the supra(mk iv) and aristo

  • soarers modded right look great and go great. such a shame when you see someone put in cheap altezza light crap and a wing and make it look like a $2 honda integra mutant.

  • Drifting in water is kind of scary lol!!! I all most totaled my FC twice I hate them damn DTSS bushings!!!

  • lol, is he clutch-kicking and pulling the e-brake at the same time? poor car..

  • lol use handbrak and use clutch kick at the same time good for your tranny.... lol!.... but 2 days practice for the D1.... ? respect

  • Awesome car.

  • love the sound of that blow off valve!!!

  • sounds like HKS

  • @rantarave its greedy i think.. or blitzzz blow off

  • @rantarave hks compressor surge?

  • soooo the hood is supposed to flap up and down like than then? 1:49 /sarcasm.

  • its got a freakin dose pipe, those things develop a tendency to drop power, take it off

  • it sounded to my ears like a group b monster audi s1

  • I6

    FTW

  • @buhrrito V8's are better. More power with less weight.

  • @AlbuynoRyen0 lol dude v8s are heavy. Idk what I even said. Lol

    1.3Liter V8 eater all day

  • @buhrrito Ummm different engines can be forged from different metals like aluminum and iron. The LS1 (V8 and most powerful) weights around 430 lbs, the 2JZ-GTE around 500-550 lbs, the RB26DETT around 600 lbs. So your wrong, and btw the 1JZ is a 2.5L and the 2JZ a 3.0L of displacement. Where did you get 1.3L from? Your garbage, please take yourself outside.

  • @AlbuynoRyen0 1.3L is a rotary engine... educate yourself.

your an idiot. get off the internet.

  • @buhrrito No, 1.3L is measure of volume with regard to displacement. The 1.3L engine in, for example, the RX-8 is a renesis 13b-msp and the RX-7 is the 13b-rew. 13B's range from N/A to turbocharged from the factory. The soarer in the video is running a 2.5L 1JZ-GTE. Why mention the rotary? It's worse than the LS1 in every way? Another question, are you mentally retarded?

  • @AlbuynoRyen0 i told you i forgot what i put. so i was like fuck the rest 1.3 all day

i know about rotaries you dweeb i own one.

    nigger.

  • @buhrrito Go mow a lawn wetback

  • Drifting isn't like need for speed, where you put full throttle around the corner. You have to be careful with your right foot and steering, to make a good complete drift.

  • @georgeskate666

you gotta balance the throttle to with the direction of your car

    the weight shifting

  • @dragonboy63

to win that championship is more than drifting

    the sound is verry sweet!

  • lol i agree :)

  • 7:33 He did It ! simply fenomenal.

  • GREAT SOUNDZ

  • lol i like when he say "I CAN DRIFT I CAN DRIFT" But still you cant win the championship lol

  • hood pins...LOL...1:50

  • yep im sure you do own it buddy engkish twat

  • love the turbo noise...

    great sounding car...

  • @StereoSoundAgent1 sorry but we don't hear that turbo. Only compressor surge.

  • @JayMark2049 well...thats what we mostly hear is compressor surge ...but there are times when you can just hear the turbo whine and its beautiful...FWIW, i was mainly talking about all the sounds associated with the turbo and all things related.

    : )

  • @StereoSoundAgent1 do you know what the dump valve is called?

  • @StereoSoundAgent1 im afraid thats called a blow off valve sir.

  • Yep, I loved my soarers. they were the best cars I've ever owned. Power and Luxury. No good to drift in standard form though =/

  • feel like making a vid?

  • @MrSteviewheels You wish..

  • woooooow that car is a beast i love the sound =] nice driving tiff =]

  • "I can drift!" nooo you cant.

  • very good try from tiff , if he would practise a bit more he would be VERY good , the man is a professional driver , surely he can do exactly what japanese do , just needs some practise !

  • in 3:21 we can se Maciej Polody

  • This is one instance where old & treacherous loses to young & skillful.

  • Yup, don't need a dual exhaust with a turbocharged inline six engine from Toyota or Nissan.

UNLESS it's a high revving normal aspirated like a BMW M3 engine

  • that's kinda vague, it depends on the diameter as well. you dont ever NEED dual exhaust, you can get 4 inch if you like. and why does a NA engine need it more? it moves less air than a turbo engine.

  • iv never been able to drift. hes doing better than me at least.

  • WHy doesn't it have dual exhaust??

  • Because it's the 2.5L engine, not a V8

  • not a bad driver i think ole dude just lacked some confidence.

shift lock will help you keep you speed up

  • No it won't, amateur.

  • yea they are not ideal for drift but there are plenty of pros that use 4door drift cars. that are just as heavy if not heavier. Also how many ppl drift 240s i mean its a great platform for drift but its just getting a lil played out. Atleast the soarer is something a lil different

  • My philosophy is if it wasn't made to do it, why force it?

Friends has a 550hp Toyota Chaser and my brother has a S14 Silvia and they out drift my Soarer any day of the week but, when it comes to street or the strip I dominate.

My point is while the 240 and AE86 drift seen is played, there's a reason. They are just better drift cars hands down. I want to stay true to my Soarer and put it on the drag strip where it belongs...

  • soarer platform is no different to a chaser platform same engine same diff, same suspension! my soarer is built to drift thats probably the difference!

  • True, the only major difference would be the Soarer is like 400lb heavier.

  • yea because off all the electronic bullshit in them once u remove the seats, and all other electronic crap the car starts to get back to round 1300-1400 kg mark!

  • i couldnt agree more... drifting my soarer just wasnt working out.

but she dominated on the strip!

    1JZ FTW

  • Soarers aren't drift cars! They are heavy and their handbrake mechanical is worse for drifting when compared to nissians (namely the Silvia).

I would know, I own one...

  • yea i own a soarer in oz and its my drift car it has plenty of power and as for the hanbrake mechanics i just went for a hydraulic item as most drift boys do! and its not much heavier than ur r33 skyline!

  • In Oakland these cars are a favorite. Car 4 A hustler with ambition.

  • the handbrake has its pro's. but using it to initiate the slide is for beginners. it slows you down. Best to save it for controlling the speed of the slide.

i used to do is every corner, it gets really boring

  • cant fuckin wait to get mines.

  • lolllllll at the first turn in the competition he did !!!! these racers get used to seeing people drifting and then out of nowhere comes a complete idiot fucking up the first turn lolllll funnny

  • dude soarers come with either a 1jz which is 2.5L straight six or a v8. and a 2jz is just 3L.

  • 30 Series Soarer models * JZZ30 (19912000) — 2.5 L 6 cyl twinturbo/single turbo VVTi * JZZ31 (19942000) — 3.0 L 6 cyl base model 6 cylinder (equivalent to Lexus SC300) * UZZ30 (19911993) — 4.0 L 8 cyl base model 8 cylinder (equivalent to Lexus SC400) * UZZ31 (19911997) — 4.0 L 8 cyl air suspension, "EMV" TV/touchscreen system * UZZ32 (19911996) — 4.0 L 8 cyl active suspension, four-wheel steering, "EMV" TV/touchscreen system

    straight from wikipedia...

  • That car isnt very reliable!!

  • my brother-in-law would agree!

    he has one

  • it's a 2,5 L engine, isn't it? normally with twin turbo. but that car was changed to a single turbo i think

  • Soarers usually come with the 2JZ, which is a 3.2L i think. I'm not sure.

  • it is :-) and they are fucking amazing ! heavy but well worth it !

  • that a 2jz? if it is im about to start a project :)

  • Tiff's Name Could be Tiffany Lol...

  • Excuse me... But what goes on in Tiff's mind at 2:06 ?

  • yes the car is terrible for drifting..... but yet they are a favorite car to be used by japanese, and uk drifters. .... I think you just suck ass and don't know what you were doing.

  • dose it !!!!!!

    sutttttttooooo!!!

  • dude ur so wrong!!! they are 1 of the best cars to learn to drift with because of the power to weight. Yes ur right they are really heavy but the power they can produce will cause them to slide really smooth. they are a very stabile car. Anyway the car sounds good and runs good. like the power #'s. i am a fan of the 1jz.

  • soarer/sc's are horrible cars to learn how to drift in... so fucking heavy

  • no, its actually more stabile

  • That is the funniest thing I have ever heard..... its 3.5 thousand pounds.. nobody wants to drift in a car that heavy

  • mate i drift in 1 and its only 1400 kgs with all the usuals removed but it makes bucket loads of power and i hav the potential 2 lighten it further but it also has great stabillity and suspension upgrades hav further enhanced the handling i say theyre a great car!

  • Its not a bad car i had an sc400 and its by far one of the greatest cars i've owned but they are fucking terrible for drifting,

  • i spotted a sr20'd ae86 :)

  • its not a wastegate a wastegate is when the car is at full song and bypasses the exhaust gases past the turbo! what ur hearing is a blow off valve it releases built up turbo gases in the intake and vents to atmosphere (well this 1 does anyway).

  • lol lets go get Kazama to like vs him and see who wins? lol

  • of course kazama would..........

  • wow Tiff Needell is terrible

  • its a waste gate, it release the pressure from the turbo after its built up nd give the boost to the engine. i think lol

  • can anyone tell me what makes that sound when he changes gear? sorry im not really good with cars x)

  • It's called compressor surge, you can look it up to hear some examples. It's because the blow-off valve isn't removing enough pressure in the boost piping so the pressure is being ran backwards into the compressor blades of the turbo and this is considered bad for a turbocharger because it increases stress.

  • blow off valve

  • Comment removed

  • awesome car, i want it, simple

  • get him a japanese driver to see who drives better...

  • beast of a car !
