But, still, I was not delighted to see the shoe thing. Bush may be a war criminal, but at that instance he was also a symbol of the US. I really did not like it. I'd rather have seen justice done thru the courts than an impotent flying shoe.

He must have known that the gesture would be futile. Being a member of the press, he also must have known that the publicity would be immense. I know he went to prison, but I never did hear what happened to him after he got out.
