  • Also remember Hank means peace!

  • Yeah, the real problem is that we have several thousands "Hanks" in this town. All Hanks claim that if I kiss other Hank's ass, they'll beat the shit out of me. I must think that only one Hank will reward me and save me from beating if I kiss his ass. It's also possible that all Hanks are liars.

Their rules complicate and many of their claims doesn't make sense so I rather save my lips and think all Hanks are liars.

  • What happened to biblegod.org

  • hi

  • Religion is least controling the people, and the most of all coments here are about religion.... wtf??? Is it the only thing you know about?? :) you didnt even read the bible... and talking what religion says :) bible is interpretation.... you can take it as you want.... what does it have to do with your brainwash?? TV and news is the biggest brainwash...... Politics aswel... we want freedom BAM occupation of IRAQ oil... BAM Libya......

  • @FruityLoopsas

The Bible explicitly states isn't up to interpretation. Plus if you are going to decide which rules u follow and which you don't why bother with it at all? why not just use sensible reasoning to make decisions without a supernatural element?

  • @superwowie111 Scripture? If you're thinking 2 Peter 1:20 then you have, ahem, misinterpreted the verse.

  • @WideOpenTuna

Wow. So we have misinterpreting the verses about not misinterpreting the Bible? WOW.

  • @FruityLoopsas You poor, unfortunate soul..

  • Hja1990@gmail.com

  • so hankdamn good

  • Genial. In the war against the god squad this is a tactical nuke.

  • I love it when people complain about this being a Christian parody, since Christianity isn't mentioned once.

  • @drche420 its funny as shit innit? how thick are they anyway? is there a scale?

  • @drche420 yeah they must recognize something i guess

  • What a great video! I love the parallel between religion and kissing Hank's ass- it's right on the mark.

  • this is so dam good.

  • excellent. five stars. but you left out one of my favorite parts, about the "extremely moderate" alcohol consumption. i loved the ending

  • I kept going to church because that's what everyone did in my town and then one day I realized to my horror, "Holy shit- these other people actually believe all this nonsense!" It still makes me laugh... and the video reminds me of how ludicrous it all is

  • @afuzzypenguin Yeah, it really seems like there are a lot of people who don't believe in God, or in the Bible but continue to go to Church for communal reasons.

It's kind of a bummer that creating a healthy community is only possible with the catalyst of bullshit.

  • I quit kissing Hank's ass and saw immediate benefits..such as being able to sleep in late on Sunday (at least until i started going to UU church) and got a 10% pay raise

  • 106 people are kissing Hank's ass. :)

  • I love when jehovah's witnesses come knocking and I troll the fuck outta them!

  • Yup, that is religion! Amazing how people fall for that shit!

  • I was brainwashed into kissing Hank's ass for years but it never did feel right so I quit kissing Hank's ass and will take my chances on getting the million dollars.

  • great stuff

  • this reminds me of funny and or interesting. no, wait, i meant the opposite.

  • I would love to try this too. xD

  • this is awesome... come kiss hank's ass with me!

  • hahahahahahahaha I believe in God and find this hilarious!!!! This hits the spot just right XD however I still believe in God... dunno why, don't ask me XD there are a lot of illogical events in this world..

  • @myheatwillkill You believe in God because you were taught too.

  • @joshrocks11 No, not quite. I was raised as a strict Muslim, but I started hating the religion because of all the BS in it. I looked at other religions and found them to be the same BS over and over. So I don't have a religion, but I think that God and science can go together... I dunno, we'll see when we die. :P

PS: My parents and little brother are Muslims, but peer pressure by family isn't going to force me to be anything I don't want to be.

  • @myheatwillkill Sure, you are right, there are rare cases every now and then. On another note, why does science need to go with fantasy's. Now that we have explained biological diversity, why does the persistence of fairies helping it along stay. They don't go together, science explains through empirical evidence, mysticism doesn't.

  • @joshrocks11 Hmm, like I said before, I know religion is BS. Major BS. That's why I'm not religious. However I still believe in God, mostly because there are still some unexplained matters on earth like the phenomenon of time for instance, or how the first atom was suddenly created. Who knows. I'm not saying atheists are wrong, neither am I saying that there is a God. I do believe that there might be something out there, but the way the bible/koran/torah explains this "God" can not be correct.

  • @myheatwillkill Furthermore, I don't mind if anyone says shit about God. I bash on religion and God all the time, and only because if there supposedly was a God, he'd be an asshole for creating a world like this, and he would understand people's hostility. Anyhow, I do not want a simple discussion to go towards hostility. I honestly don't give a shit what others believe in. Nice people are nice people whether they believe in God or whether they're satanists. That's all I care for.

  • @myheatwillkill Right, I know you are a deist. But, something being unexplained should not be allowed to have a god substituted in. I feel like I shouldn't have to explain this, because while science does not have all the answers, they are working on it through empirical evidence. And not having everything does not mean God is the appropriate answer, ever.

  • @joshrocks11 Ok. It's your opinion. It will stay as your opinion, and my belief in a certain "God" will stay with me until I'm convinced else wise. I get your logic, but it is none of my concern. And making a lot of pointless videos offending religion doesn't bother me, but it might bother others... just saying.

  • @myheatwillkill Believing in god is not an opinion, it is a belief, and beliefs must be justified. Claiming it is an opinion does not make it more justified or less wrong.

  • @joshrocks11 Yeah but bashing on religion and calling God an asshole won't exactly help you. In your eyes it's wrong, in others' eyes it's correct. They're equally convinced that they are right like you are convinced that you are right. It's a never ending battle, and it isn't going to be solved by trying to convert people to atheism...

  • @myheatwillkill I think having a rational discussion about things that have real world implications do help. It helps weed out bad ideas, that is why things are constantly improving and things like racism are at its all time low and so is sexism, because reason usually wins out.

  • @myheatwillkill Conviction does not matter in who is right and who is wrong. We argue because it weeds out bad ideas. Their is a reason civil right movements for blacks and women happened, because reason won. And too say people won't change their mind is dishonest because we have had cultural revolutions on ideas before.

  • @joshrocks11 Doesn't matter to me. Since the beginning of this argument, I haven't changed my mind a little bit, and neither have you. And trying to convert someone to atheism even though they aren't hurting anyone is a little harsh. I'd understand if you would try to convert those Westboro Baptist Church people, I'd understand. But I have enough christian friends and as long as they don't harm me, I honestly wouldn't care what they believe in...

  • @myheatwillkill Sure, people change their mind all the time, you are either practice, or people are seeing this and looking like you are wrong, or the alternative, I made you think.

And no, religion hurts the advancement of society and science, it is the kiss of death of modern society. It has been shown through out history that religion is dangerous.

  • Hank's Desktop, that's funny.

  • It's creepy on how close this story hits reality :/

  • this shit makes my head hurt xD

  • awesome job!

  • If critical thinking worked on religious people there would be no religious people.

  • @alismouha

what's that flying speghetti monster about? i've seen it a thousand times. . . .i still don't know what the joke is, but every1 else laughs, is it a white people joke?

  • @1ma4ighter No, it's a skeptic's parody of religion. Google it up.

  • @Murdulo

yeah i know. . . .has that painting got something to do with christianity?

  • @1ma4ighter If you're referring to "The creation of Adam" painting, then yes. God was replaced with the flying spaghetti monster, as there is about the same evidence for both existing (zero).

  • @Murdulo

i believe in God actually. . . .but that's crazy funny

  • @1ma4ighter It's funny because it's exactly how religions work :)

  • @Murdulo

i have atheist friends with whom i share a lot of perspective on certain things, one of them that i don't though is that there is no proof that God exists, but we won't go into a discussion that will last an eternity, lets just say, i'll leave you to your belief and you'll leave me to mine. . .i like going into debates with christians and jews because then i can emerge the clear victor in the end :D cya

  • @1ma4ighter " i don't though is that there is no proof that God exists"

So, if I got that sentence right, you DO think evidence for your god exists? If so, what is it? What evidence do you have for your god's existence?

  • @Murdulo

oh and just so i can defend my belief, my argument would be: At the begining of evolution, one element had to exist, and that element couldn't have appeared out of the blue, but that's not me starting an argument, just defending my belief

  • @1ma4ighter Well if that's your argument to "emerge a clear victor" I have to say you're clearly deluded.

    Your argument takes this form:

    1. I can't believe life arose from non-life.

    2. Therefore, my god exists.

It's called argument from incredulity. Besides, it's not like we don't know what happened. We know that ARN spontaneously forms itself, and we confirmed this through experimentation. That should make you think a bit about abiogenesis.

  • @Murdulo

yeah, no i'm talking about pre-abiogenesis, before the big bang, before the planets moved and formed new ones, at the very beginning of time, before space existed, if there was a before. i mean who am i to say that evolution never happened, just because i believe God created everything, doesn't mean i believe he made each thing just pop up out of his own. . . .for all i know, Adam was a soul/spirit injected into the 1st evolved human, afterall, he could see God n all this. .

  • @1ma4ighter You said "the beggining of evolution", and now you're talking cosmology. Get your definitions straight.

You don't have an argument, and not all beliefs are equally valid: Mine is rational, and has evidence to back it up. You just assume god exists and find excuses for it to work (e.g. god injected souls into primitive humans).

We have no idea what caused the universe, or if it caused itself. You're jumping from "we don't know" to "god did it". Argument from ignorance.

  • @1ma4ighter Sure, except for the part where Adam's a story, and 6000 years ago, we weren't just one human. DNA doesn't lie.

  • @Murdulo

i didn't say i don't believe life arose from dead objects. . .i'm saying at the beginning of everything, there had to be something, whether it was dead or alive.

i don't wanna argure man. . .that's for reasonable people to do with non-reasonable people, as i see it, we are just two people who disagree on a certain point, both with an argument, and i understand yours, as you should mine, so as civil intelligent people lets agree to disagree

  • @1ma4ighter The FSM (Flying Spaghetti Monster) is a parody religion of Christianity, except God has been replaced by the FSM.

    Learn more at venganza .org

  • @DonOfTheInternet

relax. . . .breathe. . .i got it man, no sweat, thanks for your effort though hey

  • @DonOfTheInternet LIES ! Pastafarism isn't a parody ! We are real believers of His Noodly Appendage .

  • @mononcleroger I apologize for offending your religious belief, but sky baklava OBVIOUSLY > FSM.

  • @DonOfTheInternet I shall see you on The Island and share some Volcano Beer with you when we die . Even for non believers , His Greatness the FSM will still accept you to The Island . You'll one day be touched by His Noodly Appendage and learn the truth .

  • @mononcleroger oh feckin hell u just made me laugh sooooo hard, may nike bless your sole

  • @mononcleroger He boiled for our sins

  • @mononcleroger PASTAFARIAN FOREVER! I BELIEVE!

  • This is great. I love it. Well done!

  • This is great.

  • LOL, OMH! (Oh My Hank!) This is brilliant!!! Should be required viewing material for every person indoctrinated with the dogma of Christianity.

  • I wanna do this to my neighbors haha

  • Those guys look like Reno and Rude from FF7....heh...Hank must be Shinra?

  • Jehovah's Witnesses - Seven millions of those who inhabit this town are kissing hank`s ass. But only 144 of them will get million dollars, when Hank burns down the entire town. We suppose it will happen very soon, so here`s a brochure where we describe everything what we think about. We are going to come back tommorrow to explain why does everyone kiss Hank`s ass improperly!

  • Confucianism - You should kiss asses to relatives that had alredy left the town and someday your descendants will be kissing yours.

Hinduism -You can kiss Hank`s ass or Sue`s or/and Bob`s noose. if you had left the town and no one gave you million dollars then you`ll come back to the town in new clothes to kiss ass for someone else

Haven`s gate - You should kiss Hank`s ass and then.... Oh wait! We `ve just seen Hank`s limousine! We are leaving the town right now to catch him on the junction!

  • Classic

  • @BaurakAle7 Haha good one xD.

  • Damn! I wish I'd known about Hank before I had those chili cheese dogs with Sam Adams!

  • This video shows, how religion, especially montheistic, really works. :)

  • @nWANTED Christianity does not work like this. You have to believe to understand. I hate how Atheists say they understand us when they don't even have strong faith. I don't understand Atheists! I think I'd have to be Atheist to understand their side. So no one should be saying the kind of stuff that you just said. A simple video can't show the background to centuries of knowledge, nor can it disprove God.

  • @Danomite0001 Word religion doesn't mean just Christianity. Besides, belief is not equivalent of knowledge. You can believe, that there is, for example, an elephant with pink wings, but there won't be any proof of this, so it won't be knowledge. Moreover, there is no need to hate thinking of Atheists. You just have to have respect for that. For example, I respect you belief in God, even I do not believe in God. Why I don't believe? Because factual knowledge is power, not just simple belief. :)

  • @nWANTED Belief is equivalent to knowledge because both of them can be changed. There have been so many different changes in knowledge as we uncover new things. That's why I take everything with a grain of salt, and BELIEVE what I think is right. I don't want to press my beliefs on you, and I don't want this to turn into an argument, but I just want to state that belief is power. What if I said that knowledge had the pseudo effect on everyone? How do you KNOW if you're right or not?

  • @nWANTED Oh and when I said CHRISTIANITY and not RELIGION, I was saying that because I think (even though I respect their beliefs) that a lot of religions are a little off-base. I've been reading some good books, and I think it would be interesting to you if you read them too. The names are "A ready defense", and "evidence that demands a verdict". They are both by Josh Mcdowell, and they are both pretty cool.

  • @Danomite0001 Well, there are some good books that are cool too. For instance, Stephen Hawking "The Grand Design", Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion" are quite scientific books with good argumentation. :)

  • @nWANTED I've already read Stephen Hawking's stuff, but I'll try to check out Richard Dawkins in my spare time. I also really liked the idea of that movie "Angels and Demons" and how they say that science and religion don't have to be enemies. I think that someday, someone will find a substantial amount of SCIENTIFIC evidence that might prove God. Maybe that day will be the day when Atheists and Religious (not saying Christians thsi time) people will hug =).

  • Praising the God who made you is not "Kissing Hank's Ass". DID IT SAY IN THIS VIDEO THAT HANK MADE THE WORLD??? NO. One million dollars could only buy a dumbass into believing something. This is a horrible analogy, try making a better, more realistic one that doesn't make Christians look stupid. Everyone is searching for answers, so no one should be going around doing stupid shit like this.

  • @Danomite0001

"... try making a better, more realistic one that doesn't make Christians look stupid."

Hey Danomite - come to grips with the fact that many of us do believe that Christians are absolute idiots. Deal with it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Danomite0001

I have no problem with people who believe differently than I do. I do have a problem with those who force their views upon others. I find door to door preaching invasive.

  • @Demiwag I agree with you, I don't think that should be a strategy that people do either. The reason they try to do it is because they're trying to share their faith though, so you should at least appreciate their concern.

  • this is not an accurate comparison just some simple minded fools interpretation, but keep on searching because God wants you to know him and his love for you.

  • haha yeah I know it's an awesome video and right on the money. High five.

  • Brill

  • ive stopped deabating religion a long time ago.. i've settled with it beeing "pants-on-head retarded"

  • Comment removed

  • This undermines Christians so much. This video was made by arrogant Atheists who don't understand you don't need proof. Why not watch A REAL video of being possessed, or speaking in tongues, or prophecy?

  • Oh we're getting rid of proof ? Awesome. I'm the amazing hulk. Believe it or you're a deluded fool. Gotta love the christian criteria for truth; faith. Just believe in it enough and it's real. Idiot... just... idiot...

  • @Gunnariffic Omg, what a fucking moron; you didn't even read what I said xD. I didn't say "Just believe in it enough and it's real"; which makes you a hypocrite because you believe in no God, but do you have your own proof in your hands??? I do! My proof is in the bible: to prove God, you have to prove the bible first so you can try to disprove it and try to cover up references all you want; it just won't work. You aren't "Hulk" and you aren't the smartest man in the world either. Good day.

  • @Danomite0001

". This video was made by arrogant Atheists who don't understand you don't need proof"

"My proof is in the bible:..."

    Well done there.

  • @Gunnariffic Lol you really need to think about what I'm saying. I was saying that you don't NEED proof to convert to Christianity, but there is proof by references in the bible to things that correlate to things in real life. It IS POSSIBLE that an Atheist could understand faith one day when he opens his heart and realizes that God is real. I really don't care what you say because I don't need to UP MY EGO ON YOUTUBE.

  • @Danomite0001

"This undermines Christians so much. This video was made by arrogant Atheists who don't understand you don't need proof".

Those were your words. You don't mention faith, conversion, or anything else. I read exactly what you wrote.

"I was saying that you don't NEED proof to convert to Christianity" <- No... you didn't.

Have fun watching your "real" videos of ill people acting for the cameras. so to sum your shit up "bla bla bla... shit argument, personal attack". Funny.

  • @Gunnariffic "<- No... you didn't." Oh so now you know EXACTLY what I meant even though you don't have the same mind set as me? That right there is a "shit argument"; excuse me for my poor english for saying that. Oh and those "references" you made, aren't references to the bible, they're just common knowledge. Referencing is COMPARING, not stating random stupid facts. I was just clearing that up for the uneducated people like you =).

  • @Gunnariffic It is a FACT, that you can't disprove a negative. This means that it is illogical to try disproving God through science, when a greater power could in fact be manipulating your mind right now. You can't use that argument against me can you??? Go ahead and say that SCIENCE could be making me believe in God, and that it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE that God exists. You are the real snake (just like the Devil) for trying to take people away from something that's real.

  • @Danomite0001

Rofl. Who said anything about disproving god through science? Of course that's impossible. In Science you actually need observe a phenomena. By going with the practical use of the word "real". God simply isn't real. Nothing to observe = no basis for scientific research. I never even said you could disprove god through science. You can't disprove the non-material unicorn either so who the fuck cares?

  • @Gunnariffic I was just stating that you can't disprove him, so people should stop trying to. It wasn't necessarily directed towards you. I do know that God is real though because I've had "signs". I know you don't believe me, and the only reason why is because you don't believe in him. I'm done with this petty argument if all you're going to do is be an unwise 25 year old who has nothing better to do than have internet arguments based on beliefs. I didn't start it, but I'm finishing it.

  • @Gunnariffic Oh and BTW, you just now said that you can disprove God through science whenever you stated "Nothing to observe = no basis for scientific research.". Saying that there is a lack of scientific proof, is just like saying that you can disprove God through science; you'd still be using science, just as a NEGATIVE variable.

  • @Danomite0001

    ?

What?! If you can't apply science, how is it used? I'll make it into a formula:

For the scientific method to be applied, you need a natural phenomena to observe

God is not an observable phenomena

You cannot apply the scientific method to god

So no. I wouldn't be using science since there is no way to apply it.

  • @Gunnariffic Omg, A NEGATIVE (hence, unable to apply science) can be used in an equation also! What I was saying is that a lot of Atheists say "there is no scientific proof of God, so there's no reason to believe in him". This equation implies that science is still a variable. It may be a negative variable, but it's still a variable. Do you get what I'm saying? I would like to say though that God is an observable phenomena to the ones who can see. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

  • @Gunnariffic If you are planning on keeping this going, why not just look at the other comments? Most of these arguments end the same way: with both parties thinking they're right, and both of them bashing on each other. I was just commenting on the video, not to you. The reason I want to stop is because arguing is stupid and childish. Everyone should just get along.

  • @Danomite0001

Hey I was done, lol. I had already said "Rofl. Who said anything about disproving god through science? Of course THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE.". I made that perfectly clear then YOU went on saying "you just now said that you can disprove God through science whenever you stated". THAT'S WHAT I JUST SAID!

You just made an argument out of something you obviously fucking agree with !?

I don't give 2 shits about what other atheists say. I don't rely on science for my disbelief.

  • @Gunnariffic " I never even said you could disprove god through science." + ""you just now said that you can disprove God through science whenever you stated". THAT'S WHAT I JUST SAID!" = I don't think I'm following. Lol, I think that something in the time continuem disrupted our discussion and caused a warp in space time; which in turn made a black hole that would suck up everything, and then spit it out again in a different order. Wtf is going on here? xD.

  • @Danomite0001 You're just another crazy religious freak, aren't you? Please stop spewing your idiocy - whatever your belief is. It's just not necessary.

  • @xmikeyxlikesitx Don't be a fool and make absolutes, after all Einstein said that. I am not a crazy religious freak, I am entitled to my oppinion just as much as you are... and you seem to have some strong ones =). So why not stop being a hypocrite and go back to your "speaking of idiocy" ( xD ) elsewhere. Good day.

  • @Gunnariffic Oh and the reason I stated that second phrase, is because of your comment "Nothing to observe = no basis for scientific research.". That is basically saying that there is "no proof for God, THEREFORE; HE HAS BEEN PROVEN WRONG"! Atheists tend to think that "everything is proven wrong, until proven right". THERE! THAT IS THE REAL SUMMATION OF MY "BLA, BLA, SHIT ARGUMENT". HAPPY? <=D. NOW YOU CAN GET ON WITH YOUR BORING LIFE, AND LEAVE ME TO MY GOOD ONE! =D

  • @Gunnariffic You're the one that attacked me first with your comments about a "pink unicorn" thingy. So you're the one at fault for an argument starting... if you even called that an argument, pft! I've had better debates with my dog about going outside. If I wasn't a REAL Christian, I would say: "Go ahead and waste your breath; for all I care you can die, and got to hell". =) P.S. (Don't worry, that wasn't passive-aggressive at all! *wink*).

  • The invisible unicorn point is valid

I'll just briefly try to make you understand

    You said

"but there is proof by references in the bible to things that correlate to things in real life". Yes, but only mundane things. This is what I meant by "I am the HULK, people live in houses. I am from Sweden".

Having one thing that correlates to real life does not prove the lie next to it.

Not having evidence against a claim, does not make the claim valid.

Disagreeing with this is to be dishonest.

  • @Gunnariffic I can perfectly understand, you don't need to ask me! The invisible unicorn "point" was sarcastic, and I've heard almost every Atheist use it. I get what you're saying about the bible's evidence, and how it can't TRUELY prove God; but I think that some way or another, it can. If you find enough evidence for a crime scene, then you can justly solve it. Oh and BTW, I appologize for saying some rude things; and you should put some new guitar videos up, they're good.

  • @Gunnariffic If you don't rely on science, what do you rely on? Is it your own beliefs? Do they seem too true for you, as if they have already been proven real? I BELIEVE that if you do, you sir... have faith. If that is true, then why not talk about faith, and not science??? I'm just putting out a conversation opener.

  • @Gunnariffic So before you go trying to quote someone and obviously not see what they're saying, think first. "Well done there." Lol what a dumbass statement. You completely read through without even looking. The quotes you put up really make you look stupid when you read what I actually said. I didn't say that I don't have proof in the first quote; I was saying that Atheists don't need proof to convert to Christianity. God bless you.

  • @Danomite0001

    Well slithered, snake.

Sure I'm the hulk. You just need to disregard all doubt, put your sanity aside and like you put it... "open your heart" to the truth. And man references to real thing. Oh yeah I'll put one next to my claim and you're good then. "I am the HULK, people live in houses. I am from Sweden". There's a reference to something real. See how shit that argument is now?

    Atheismo bless you.

  • @Gunnariffic Don't even bother replying because it will show how unwise the stereotypical Atheist is. I'm not even going to reply if you do, so it will just be wasted breath on your behalf. I don't care if you say I'm "backing down", or if you try coming up with a "breaking-ground argument" because I will end up being the more wise one to not keep this pointless argument going. It's funny how people can get into stupid arguments on the internet; but in real life, they could be great friends.

  • Wouldn't want you to run out of air..... who am I kidding, I wouldn't mind that at all.

  • @Gunnariffic Good for you, like I said idc. That comment just shows how the stereotypical Atheist thinks =). Go ahead and reply more, it's making me laugh =p.

  • @Gunnariffic BTW, nice guitar videos.

  • LOL Nice. I like the Reservoir Dogs theme too.

  • Such a great essay and video. I can't believe I haven't yet reposted it on Atheist Asshole dot Word Press dot com. But I will right quick!

  • Damn, in fact I red this in Russian first and then searched in English and found this vid, lol

  • I'd like to point out.. Where is any religion mentioned in this? Who said this was about religion?

  • it's so great. Proves u dont need too much gear to make an epic.

  • Absolutely perfect!

  • well done gentlemen :)

  • Hank's desktop

  • Doctor Who poster back on the wall, isn't?

  • The world is actually a prison for us to get to where we should be... Now, don't hate, cuz I'm not being religious here, I'm not. I'm just trying to find logic to all the non-sense that exists about it and I believe that to be a very reasonable explanation.

  • @bluejester28 "I'm just trying to find logic to all the non-sense that exists about it and I believe that to be a very reasonable explanation."

Logic is not a substitute for evidence. This is obvious, because there are an infinity of "very reasonable explanations" and the only way to figure out which one corresponds to reality is by observing the world. Keep in mind that one such explanation is that nature exists for no reason what so ever. So looking for reasons may well be futile.

  • @bluejester28 Futile that is, in the same way searching for the edge of the earth is futile, or trying to figure out what's north of the north pole. Until you know that a question is meaningful you should be careful about insisting in making up an answer. It can quickly lead you to a worthless worldview.

  • So, my question's always been: Why in the hell would God want you to believe in him/her so bad..??? I really think there is logic to the Gnostic teachings that we are being fooled by a "god" who has created this world to play with humanity and the real deal- that is, the real God, creator, consciousness, source or whatever you wanna call it is so above all levels of density that at our level, in this low dimension, we can't be in touch with it... (cont.)

  • @bluejester28 Why would God want you to believe in him so bad? Hey, he's God-- he's got a massive ego. And you better stroke it buddy, or your ass is grass. It doesn't much matter what else you do, as long as you stroke that ego. Hank, ...er..., I mean Jesus, says so...

  • @Syncopator Did you NOT behave your parents, and did you NOT follow their ways? Did your parents have "MASSIVE EGOS"??? If you created something, wouldn't you want it to work for you? That's what I thought. So when you're GOD and you suddenly know EVERYTHING, let me know; because it would be illogical for God to be on a power-trip, when he knows that doing that would end up being bad. After all, he is omniscient. =)

  • @Danomite0001 I could see and talk to my parents, and know they exist. They may want me to work for them, but that has limits-- even if they did "create" me, that wouldn't make it ethical for them to abuse me. If God exists and wants followers, he has an inordinate fondness for the superstitious and gullible.

  • @Syncopator What if you're wrong, and you're the one that is found gullible? God can't be easily proven in this world, because he works outside of it by manipulating things. We'd have to be on his level to find proof. On the other hand, I strongly believe he is real because he has worked miracles in my life from afar. Also, God does not abuse us! We abuse ourselves by the choices WE make. Just like the analogy i made earlier, most parents won't just punish you for no reason either.

  • @Danomite0001 I'd say it's abuse to play hide and seek with someone and then punish the loser eternally. If events are truly random, and nothing fortuitous or especially lucky occurred now and then, then THAT would be unusual. I've been pretty lucky, but I see no reason to credit God with it as an unbeliever. If Christians were more likely to be fortunate, statistics would show that-- I guess God has to create miracles for unbelievers too just so statistics won't tip his hand.

  • This video blatantly points out the absurdities of religion. However the problem is that religious people do not want to see how ridiculous their beliefs are and it does them no good to watch something like this.

  • @angelcakes1091 That can go either way.

  • Awesome! This is the finest allegory I have ever seen or even heard! These seven odd minutes of watching this video should be enough to open those faithfuls' eyes.
