Wow, you were incredibly calm for transition or even early 'birthing waves'! With my first not using anything, I was freaking out. This second time I'm using hypnobabies, a birthing ball, red raspberry leaf tea (to help shorten birthing wave time) and a pool, our tub was one of those tiny water conserving ones that made it very hard to deal with because I couldn't move around at all. Awesome!
@mersiepoodle One thing to consider- you know how drunks usually survive a car accident? It's because theyre relaxed! They a lot of times walk away unharmed. Consider guided imagery where you are imagining your body opening up for the baby and going with your body and relaxing into it as your contractions come instead of tensing up. This makes it SOOO different! And moaning helps relax you too and vibrates the pain away. Im hoping for a homebirth next year with my 7th. :D
I think you did great too. Remember birth doesn't have to be completely painless to be wonderful. If you got all the way to transition relatively comfortably, that is a huge achievement. By then you're so close to the end that it's very encouraging. Unprepared mums would have a hard time doing that. I was very unprepared for my first baby and only got to 5cm before needing an epidural, my second I got to 8cm before I even went to the hospital! It honestly makes all the difference. Well done! :)
Being a Hypnobabies mom myself, I think you did great. As long as you were happy with your birth, that's all that matters. Some Hypnobabies moms do feel a lot of intense feelings during transition and that's okay. It's birth. Birth is intense!

Ugh, you can really tell who is a teenage boy on these comments, and who is a normal adult. Grow up, little boys. Get your rocks off elsewhere.
