5,000 texts isn't really that bad. That's about 165 texts per day, and presuming you allow for 8 hours of sleep, 10 texts an hour, or one text every 6 minutes, and that's portrayed as a bad thing, considering the average text is just a "lol" or something like that.

It's routine for car insurance companies to demand, from drivers who buy insurance from such companies, a duty of utmost good faith in return. That the then-teen driver went behind her mum's back would make me, as a parent, angry. I would have given her a choice, given her poor driving record at the time: (1) bar her from driving any of the vehicles registered at my home address indefinitely or for a specified time period; or (2) to ask her to move out and get her own car and insurance.

my dad's best friend was killed in a car accident- it wasn't because of texting, but it was because the road is mainly dangerous to begin with.
