Yeah, that would of been a good idea, the only Namco characters in this game I really knew about before playing it, were the ToD characters, the Soul Calibur characters, and Klonoa.
Still, with proper subbing/translation to a domestic version, all the characters would've been introduced correctly, even if they were new. They should've added some sort of encyclopedia for their old products or something with it in the domestic version.

I agree, but I think the main reason is the number of little-known characters Namco added. Just a guess, I don't really know.
