I am sorry if you have already answered this at some point....but how does it compare to your memory lane??
-I currently have a TF but have had every delay under the sun, but this one. The memory man is my Holy Grail of delays and dream of one day finding a tap tempo delay that comes close to it. The Memory lane was close...but still didnt touch the Memory Man. I love the Midi functionality of my TF but am not crazy about the analogue sound.
No worries. The Memory Lane and the Timeline are two totally different animals. I keep the Timeline for the digital sounds, and the Memory Lane for the analog sounds. In my humble opinion, to get the widest array of sounds, it's very nice to have both. :-) Cheers!
The Timefactor is a great pedal. Just for me personally though, I couldn't get into the sound of it converting my dry signal to digital and then back to analog. It took away a lot of dynamics. With the Timeline, the dry signal is untouched. That's what made the decision for me, but a lot of guitarists love the Timefactor, and get great sounds out of it. :-)
ok, cool, thanks. oh a couple more things if you don't mind, if i got the midi mate with it, would the presets already be there once plugged in? or would i need to save them on the midi mate once i put then together. and does the timeline have the ability to run 2 separate delays at the same time?
When you plug in the Midi Mate, you have access to 128 factory presets. But you can overwrite 127 of them with your own settings if you want. :-) And unfortunately no, it cannot do two delays at once.
hey total noob question but does the midi switch/pedalboard just plug into the Timeline as a preset selector? No other hardware needed (other than the guitar and amp of course) Im thinking about some DC pedals as they are SO good sounding and multifunctional but unsure how to set them up
Yep! Just plug in a midi switching board/pedal, and you're set. It's actually so easy that the first time I set it up, I was sure I was doing something wrong! hehe
Just wow. I have been looking at so many delay pedals, and I haven't heard one yet that sounds as lush and spacious as this one. I'm really looking for an old, dark, kind of creepy delay sound (at times) and this pedals seems like it can do that. Thanks for posting these videos, you do a great job, and your playing is fantastic. 1:00 to 1:44, I just about died. That sounds like heaven.
Thanks for the kind words. Honestly, it's a very, very good pedal. The best digital delay I have heard. And yes, it can get really dark if you like. Good luck on your delay search, and I hope you end up landing on this pedal! :-)
Yes, all the sounds are from the Timeline. The Rocktron Midi Mate is simply switching the presets within the Timeline...it's incapable of producing its own sounds. And my signal is plugged only into the Timeline and then the amp in this video. :-)
Hey, thanks for the kind words. And congrats on the Timeline. basically those settings are on the long delay setting, with high repeats, and a long time setting. And then I'm playing, of course, the chords and notes with the volume knob on the guitar down, and then slowly turning it up as the notes ring out. Then the Timeline does the rest. I'll try to re-create the exact settings for each knob, and then let you know what they are. :-)
how did you program the presents onto that pedal board??? I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to gear. I am going to buy this pedal but i'd like to get a setup like yours for playing live.
You just hook up any midi switching pedal, and it gives you access to the stored computer memory in the Timeline. Dial in a sound you like, press a button on the Timeline, then press the button of the numbered patch you want that sound in on the midi pedal, and there ya go. It's saved as that number and you can recall it anytime you want. Damage Control did a really good job making it user friendly to write patches. :-)
hi, im planning to buy the womanizer pedal.but i have a question about the tube on the pedal, do you have to change it? if yes, how long the tubes lasts? hope u can find time to answer..thanks
Hey, I just answered your question on the part 1 of this demo video. The tubes seem to last about a year with intense playing every day. However, overdrives tend to be harder on tubes, so they might wear out a tad sooner on the DC overdrives. Hope that helps!
Hey dude. I am finally about to buy one of these beauties.
You have done much for the youtube community and the damage control time line.
Cheers.

I am so buying this pedal once my Skreddy comes in.
Right when the Skreddy Echo comes in the mail, I am selling it for this beautiful pedal - and maybe a midi mouse to go with it.
Question - do you still have your Glass Nexus? Is it reeeeaaalllyyy that awesome? I want the Glass Nexus too, but I am afraid of multi-fx pedals.
cosmogang 2 years ago
Ya, the Nexus is great as well. Lots of ambient options. :-)

Dude, you shouldn't have posted this. I shouldn't be spending $400 on a delay effect but you're really tempting me.

haha Sorry, bro. It's Damage Control's fault. They made a killer pedal! :-)

Maybe the best of pedal Delay Effect ! The sound at "1.00 to 1.20" is beautiful (Video 1 too).
Thanks Man for your video. Great Tone with your AC30 !

I agree. An incredible sounding pedal. Thanks for the kinds words! :-)

The modulation sounds so nice on this unit! It's rare .. the only modulation I've really enjoyed on delays is of the DMM.
DemoColorScheme 2 years ago
I agree. It's rare for a digital delay to have that lush of modulation. They outdid themselves on this thing, methinks. :-)

AWESOME reverse at 4:00

Thanks. Ya, the Timeline has a really nice, intuitive reverse sound. You don't have to play much! lol Just let it do its thing.

Alright I'm back and recently bought a maxon AD999.
But now looking at this pedal again, I'm having mixed feelings lol.
