The chickenfoot output is good in my opinion, but musically not as GREAT as many other songs in Joe's vast catalogue, including this amazing song with NO lyrics. That said, Joe is almost retirement age now and it is great he has something cool to do with a star band.

when I use my Js or any other guitar, I always get the sound of the "picking". how do i eliminate that?

@Mkamalid You can't... If you mean through fast passages though, then I'd suggest learning legato.

@NathanKRobinson no through any passage actually. It's the sound of the pick hitting the string, anyways I changed my amp and it solved it a bit.

but for example what i mean when you lsn to the record or this live recording, you can hardly hear the pick at all...it's just notes (imagine it as a very fast fade in at the beginning of each single note, this way you don't get any "noise" coming out of the friction). This has been bothering me with recording a lot

@Mkamalid try picking a little softer? It could be any number of reasons really.. using too much of the plectrum to pick, using very hard plectrums, picking too hard etc. try changing any of those.

@Mkamalid Try picking in different spots to see which sounds the smoothest for your tone. And the angle of the pick makes a lot of difference to pick noise. The noise of the pick is usually lost in the mix though. Drums heal all.

@Mkamalid Tube amps work pretty well to get rid of that. It also largely depends on the pickups. If they're crap pickups its going to sound like crap, and if you're using single-coils, that could be it because they're almost designed to sound that way. Dialing in a good tone may also be part of it, as well as using the right amount of gain.
