if one person or one family have good life it does not mean all in bahrain live well the villages are very poor, sewage ,no school,no hosptial, where is the wealth, wrong distriubution of oil wealth, some families are brainwashed & get benefits from the Govt so they protect the Govt, one has to be fair, why always cover the Govt for prestige & their own benefits.who can live in the villages, unemployment & theft in all country wealth by the royal family.

Well, thanks very much for CNN for showing the painful situation and terrible living conditions in Bahrain.Additionally, I don't expect the minister of Labour to speak the truth because she is not originally Bahraini. She is a decendant of the "Blouchi" family which are know to be living in Pakistan. Any Bahraini would never hesitate to speak the truth like the Bahraini guy in the video did. We need better living condition in Bahrain, good salaries, freedom of press and equalization.

There are a lot of things about being poor that keep people poor. A laborer from India can more cheaply provide for a family back home, as the cost of living is lower; whereas for a Bahraini to make 150-200 BD will ensure that he will always be poor. It is not worth it. Cheap labor lowers the salaries and the status of skilled labor jobs.

What's lopsided or dramatic about this report? The majority of the people in oil-rich Bahrain live in terrible conditions. Someone who lives in Riffa and goes to Switzerland every few months may not know that, but that doesn't change the fact that it's true.

If the argument is made that the Shia are being systematically sidelined, it doesn't imply that the Sunnis own everything. It just means that the government is intentionally targeting one sect and not another. We have to be careful not to fall in the trap of "Shia good Sunni bad" or vice versa, but at the same time, we can't ignore the realities we face day in and day out.

The majority Shia are sidelined, plain and simple. That doesn't mean that the Sunnis are all living in palaces, I know several who live under similar conditions.  It just means that the government is systematically preventing the Shia from getting high position jobs, winning contracts, etc. and so, when the poor Shia looks at his neighbors in Riffa and sees the green grass, asphalted roads, modern houses he starts to wonder: "Is it because I'm (x) and not (y)?"
