When I first heard that this was turned into a movie...because of the movie "Flowers in the Attic" I almost avoided it. But since I got free rentals I decided to give it a chance....now I wanna buy this movie!!!! haha Now only if they could make the other books in the series into movies...I'd be one happy book nerd :) lol

Yes, most definitely worth watching. Donna Summers little girl (Brooklyn Sudano) can act and sing. Enjoy it free on Hulu. Just Google 'Hulu" and click on the site, then use their search engine to find "Rain" in their database. A lot of other good movies and shows there also.

I just finished reading the book today, it was really good.. I havent seen the movie yet but in the book she didnt have musical talent she could just act really well.. I think that you should read the book before you see the movie, It was so sad and very detailed=)

WRONG! I loved the book, but this is all wrong.. The part where she goes and lives with her grandmother, true, her sister being murdered, true. but the whole part of there being an art school, that doesnt come until the second book.

I don't know about the 3rd and 4th, cause ive just started reading the series and have only just finished the second one, but this is NOTHIN at all like the book. VC Andrews must be turning in her grave to know about this.

this is NOWHERE near the book. ATALL. in the book Rain DOESNT sing, shes an actress, and because she went to live with her biological grandmother and went to a prissy private school and her teacher advised her to audition for the school play, and she got the lead part. that summer her grandmother sent her to ENGLAND to live with her GREAT AUNT who didn't even know they were related, to go to the preforming arts school so she could ACT not SING.

The characters they chose for the movie are very similar to the descriptions in the book which is very good! Can't wait to watch it. Although the movie looks great i wish they stuck to the story line and made Rain an actress. They always tend to do that aye, change the story line which is annoying.

It's not completely loyal to the book, which is hard to do in a hollywood adaptation. I played Corbette Adams in the film, and my character was definitely changed from the book. So was our performance (duet and not the play), as well as most of the incest references removed. But it was still a good flick, I felt.

Be sure to pick this DVD up! It is an awesome movie. It was filmed here in Dallas and I am in the choir scene and singing Amazing Grace on the soundtrack... Brooklyn is very cool and down to earth! I named my neice after her...

Brooklyn is Donna Summer's daughter. Sounds like she probably doesn't have as powerful of a voice as her mom, but she's certainly beautiful, and seems to be a decent actress. Her singing does sound pretty sweet at the end, I look forward to seeing this.
