What other option would the infants father have if his father started physically abusing a child or his ex wife. ou have said nothing about the conviction of the infants grandfather . As of right now only the wealthy have access to free market protection services , so what should young Mr Irish do in the event or a re occurrence of his fathers violence?

The father claims "very extenuating" circumstances? Well, none of his children, apparently, want anything to do with him, yet, in the RR interview yesterday he seemed quite interested in making himself present at the rally. That is EXACTLY the kind of behavior one would expect from a compulsively abusive family member. It's about power, I'm sorry to say, and their ability to wield it or lord it over their victims. Children of an abusive parent often have trouble managing their early adult lives

@slewofdamascus I was at the rally, and witnessed what his presence did to Jonathon's mother. She was visibly shaken, and obviously frightened by him. As she was reading her statement, he was hovering right over her. I was right behind him, and didn't realize it was him, and thought he was a reporter. He interrupted her, and I thought, where does he get off? I then went to use the facilities in the court house, and his mom very upset in the hallway. I tried to console the poor woman.

@ancientofways that's truly a shame, on a day of celebration as she got her child back. The grandfather was interviewed at the rally on another channel and he continued his diatribe about supporting CPS' decision to take the baby (what an asshole, huh?). I'm surprised his presence didn't create violence, he is quite the provocateur. Physically abusive people are transparent - they long for power and they often seek employment in law enforcement, you can't trust a word from their lying mouths.

I want to add for clarification that I support OK, and I think in today's politicized environment it takes courage for active law enforcement, particularly, to support this mainstream-maligned organization. We can thank the SPLC for that "malignement", btw. While it is true that law enforcement can attract the wrong kind of individual because of the power involved in the position, it would be wrong to paint the entire group with the same sordid brush. I applaud leos who serve with distinction.
