Maybe this is why buying raw milk directly from the farmers is to be outlawed, their milk might be uncontimated and tainted.

I love raw milk and I know that it is uncontaminated, but nearly everything is made with some kind of pasteurized milk product. I've been working on cutting out all processed food and I'm getting much better as time goes by, but these criminals have turned nearly all the processed food into ticking time bombs. If I go to a mainstream grocery store, I'm lucky if they have a little corner of organic food, luckily I have some really good alternative super markets w/ a great selection for now.

The raw milk issue is separate from this because in order to sell raw milk safely, you can't raise cattle in confinement, which means you can't have too many cows. Most of the farms using growth hormones are large CAFOS, which you should never purchase raw milk from. If you're looking for safe, clean raw milk, look for smaller farms that pasture their cattle, and always ask if they treat their cows with growth hormones and antibiotics, just to be safe.

It's hidden in foods like cheese (including cream cheese), yogurt, and chocolate containing milk ingredients. You can easily find milk labeled "r-BST free," but it's a lot harder to determine the safety of some of other products. Your best bet is to go organic or do enough research into whatever company you're interested in purchasing from. You CAN still eat dairy and not consume growth hormones.

There's also a website called Local Harvest, which helps you connect to local small farmers in your area. Its been very helpful in finding co-ops as well.

I'm living in GErmany at the moment, and get my raw milk from cows that spend their days on the pasture.
