i thought that as games and technology progresses the sequels (not chronological) get much more better than the prequels. in this case gta 4 sucks as it is not as diverse as its predecessor gta san andreas. all the games that i have bought that are supposed to out do their predecessors got example mgs 4, gta 4 and god of war 3, just go backwards, which significant improvement in graphics but only go backward in diversification this i do not understand

@EhtYlno GTA IV wasn't as diverse as San Andreas because GTA IV has a much more sophisticated graphics engine than it's predecessors. The technology wasn't as advanced in GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas so the overall possibilities of the things that you could do were virtually endless. You can't do as much when you are pushing the technology to it's limit the GTA IV did. Some features from San Andreas were bound to be axed.

@kilosnew the issue is not about graphics, as far as i believe, it is about storage, indeed a few days after its arrival, additional features like the tank were included after new firmwares and episodes like ballad of gay tony. its not about pushing technology to its limits, its about lack of space which they made up for in the newer episodes. and because of trying to create a 'realistic' appeal, they removed the air planes, besides the size of liberty city wasn't suitable for flying jets...

San Andreas you could play basketball, go offroading, street racing, BMXing, crush cars with a monster truck, or just explore the massive map. If a game had the amazing map size and environment variation as San Andreas and the graphics and gameplay of GTAIV, That would be the perfect game, and I'm sure nearly everybody who has played San Andreas and GTA4 would agree with me.

@doom032 The PC port was done later on, and honestly, they programmed the game engine in a wierd way. The game is there, and its kicking ass like every GTA does, but you need a high end pc to play it with a decent quality. Kinda reminds me of the engine problems Mass Effect 1 had.
