Was there trackwork on the express tracks? The 4 is normally an express, and 33rd is a local station. That usually causes all the weekend trains to be more crowded than usual from what I've seen.

We've got the same situation here in Chicago. Barely made it on the train to get to the Sox game yesterday. Worst is being packed into a car full of Cubs fans during a hot summer afternoon when the AC isn't working. Hell on earth, I thought.

The 4 train is no joke no matter what time of day it is. I've been on the 4 at 1am and it was PACKED. I love the 4 but you have to be ready to deal with the crowds cause they are goin to be there.

Wow...thats crazy. When the 4 runs local in Manhattan I don't bother to get on it, I'll find an alternative way to go to the Bronx. Yes the 2nd Avenue Line needs 2 be built....I couldn't agree more!

Uh yeah, thats called a train being in front of the train, its rush hour and they have like 2 min headways so yeah thats going to happen. The train can't proceed because he has a red signal, stop arm in the tripping postion so..What do you expect on those IRT lines? The 7 runs 90 second headways bcause those trains are so small.

Its not rush hour. There isnt a rush hour on Sunday AMs. The 4 dosent normally run Local. It was Local b/c there was track work on the Express tracks. Though there was train traffic.

Bad part is that it looks just as packed as a weekday morning. And those doors are gonna break pretty soon...lol
