Tarja was awful live, good singer though. I think Anette is true to her voice, which is epic both live and recorded. Tarja was too modified. But I don't understand why everyone is worshipping Tarja as a "goddess". Nightwish is Nightwish, true and forever - only us true oceanborn will see them for what they are - a legendary rock band. Both singers are excellent in their own rights, but Nightwish is not gothic anymore, it's a true rock/metal band as it always was, with a more fitting sound.

@didimakina tarjas studied singing from 6 and she still does (she is 33 now), she studied at the sibelius academy and at the karlsruhe-she got a scholarship there- classical singing and she's got an argentinian mezzo as a teacher.

she changed her technique on the century child album thats something everybody that's been following nw knows

@IvanTsarina well, just was looking for videos about this sont, and found this live and wanted to give my opinion that's it^^ about classic + metal I love rhapsody, the singer's voice is so ... mixed classical and metal, so powerfull. I think I'm just disapointed, I thought Tarjas voice could be more powerfull in live :s I don't say she sings bad but sounds light compares to Amy Lee for exemple...

Anyway Nightwish is a good band and do awesome songs =)

now that she is solo, she sounds more powerful. check her version of this song (london concert i think)

She has done better live performances of this song, however to me this sounds more like a sound mixing issue. Sounds like they didn't have the gain up enough on both Tarja's and Marco's mic.

Its still a great performance of one of their more difficult songs to pull off live.
