Awwwwwww this is so sweet. You can tell that the deer doesn't want to leave! I'm glad you rescued it! My Danes would've been all over that poor thing knocking it down, wanting to play.

I also own a great dane . They are the most gentile dogs. I raised an orphaned squirell last summer, and he shown the most remarkable tenderness towards that tiny fragile animal.

I also had a black female, and Kate has the same face, where you look at it and see the intelligence. I had to put down Baby in 1984 at the age of 12. I feel lucky to of had her that long. It looks as though Pip couldn't ask for a better friend.

What a saint of a dog! And I could only shake my head in amazement reading that you (rightly) restrained yourselves from interfering for 3 days, hoping the mother would come back to reclaim her fawn. It must have been so tough on you.

You don't own a Great Dane, you are owned by them. Believe me, you will love every minute of it but they must be appreciated because they don't have a long lifespan.
