  • love it..I have the book he wrote, in fact my first bee book......I feed my bees honey and try to emulate his directions for chemical free, immune compromising treatments...what a great thing....God gave the Honey Bee...we should steward them wisely with care in love and thanksgiving.

  • full of shit.....treehugging

  • @guitarthroat not really....... i was worried in the first 2 mins but then he made a fair amount of sense there after....

  • Wonderful video; I love the way Ross explains his beekeeping philosophy. He is an inspiration to those of us trying to keep honeybees without exploiting and poisoning them.

  • This guy is a fucking poser and is so full of shit, it is coming out his ears. Tree-hugging dipshit.....I prayed to the Indian jub-jub monster and they told me that mite strips and foul brood medicines was against the spirits and I was going to apiary hell for keeping my bee hives from illnesses.

  • @guitarthroat Next time you feel the need to throw insults around, why not look in a mirror? Or perhaps you might consider the idea of not making any comments if you have nothing useful to say...

  • Dude maybe the bee's kept flying around you because you sat next to a hive, and it had nothin to do with what sitting bull said!!

  • It,s in the spring when mine eat the most, plenty of pollen too. Mine eat very little in-till then. But by god they do need it then.

  • Ah the bees the bees

  • Bees eat mostly pollen not honey. Bees feed the brood honey! A good beekeeper knows this.

  • @phillmytube

Bees depend on honey as their main source of food during the winter. My bees eat about 70lbs of honey each winter.

  • @tradernorton05 I love it when you "natural" goofs don't treat for mites or foul brood and your whole fucking livelihood ends up in the shitter because all your hives get infected and die. Let's stop using any modern innovations or medicines to fight infections or pathogens because it's all bad. And as far as migratory beekeeping, it's a scapegoat and has no evidence that it hurts anything. If you're going to make statements like this, have evidence to support your claim.

  • @guitarthroat

Hey asswipe, what makes you think I dont treat for pests and diseases?

Assuming things about others makes you look even more stupid than you already are.

    Dont even bother replying.

  • @tradernorton05 I never said you didn't whomever you are. The individual in this video says he doesn't. and I have the right to disagree with his opinion about "natural" beekeeping. In my own experience, I have encountered several other beekeepers that were braggadocios about using absolutely no medicines or mite strips. And each time, I heard from them later that they lost so many of their hives, that they either went under or it set them back several years and several thousand dollars.

  • @tradernorton05 And as far as migratory beekeepers going to the southern US during the winter to raise queens, most of the same arrogant assholes that talk all this shit about how the migratory guys spread diseases are calling the very same guys to buy queens for their hives in the north. It's funny shit when I catch hypocrites saying this. I assumed nothing...YOU DID. I wasn't even talking to you and you obviously took it personally. A total stranger online? Seriously? Get a life.

  • @guitarthroat

    You fucking idiot.

look back through your comments and you'll clearly see that YOU originally replied to me.

The fact that you replied to me is the only reason I replied to you. Its obvious the functions of youtube are are little too dificult for you to understand.

Btw, My hives are just fine, and I raise my own queens.

  • I've been watching so many YouTube video on bee keeping and your comments and approach is so genuine and pure. It was very refreshing. Please post more videos

  • Thank you Ross for yor video's and the book!

I think it's one of the best books out. Tons of great info.

  • I will buy that book. I have an interest in keeping bees in the future, and you better bet I'm gonna do it the right way. Thank you for posting the video!

  • Good for you for feeding your bees honey!

Have you investigated the idea that introducing "small cell" frames are more "organic" for bees as well? I've heard the commercial wax "frames" are too big and tend to make bigger bees that have less resistance to problems. Any comment?

  • @MzProgressive Ross Conrad talks about small cell foundation at length in his book, Natural Beekeeping.

  • I like the way you see the bee, what do you think of the top bar hive? do you think it would be less stressfull.

  • Mr. Ross Conrad is so handsome!

  • Comment removed

  • I also thank you! Your video realigned my paradigm as I start keeping bees again this Spring at my cabin in NW WI, after 10 years away from the hobby.

  • Thank you !

The best four minutes I have ever heard concerning Bee's. The care and concern is paramount.

    Regards,

  • You said it when you said, "Not treating them as a cog in a machine." That way we are in tune with where they are at, what they need or don't need. Like being in tune with our own bodies. We are all one with everything. Thanks for this video. I want to start keeping feral bees and do it the natural way. I will look for your book .

  • Thanks for placing this online. Through conrad's book, I started keeping bees this year.

  • Thanks. After reading Conrad's book last year I finally took up beekeeping

  • Great attitude, great video. I to wish to keep honeybees as naturally as possible. Thank you for sharing this. Currently keeping 6 hives in city and 4 in rural area.
