Sephiroth wasn't modeled after Gackt. If you colleted all the G reports while playing DoC then after beating the game you get to see Genesis who WAS modeled after Gackt. Maybe the game character your thinking of is Bujingai who was also modeled after Gackt.
@Twillimist, you mean in the Ryu no Kenshin-DVD? I don't remember exactky what he said. Though, the actor who played Uesugi Kenshin's military strategist said he was very fond of Gackt and thought he was cute (and Gackt also said the same about him). And that he admired his eagernes to learn (:

Gackt would have been perfect as Sozaburo Kano in Gohatto since he makes a slightly feminine samurai. Even though that movie wasn't that great lol but I'd take secret asanoxgackt love any day.

mmmizuki's right, the only character that gackt modeled for(which was proven true) was Genesis Rhapsodos of Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII(also in the secret ending of Dirge of Cerberus FFVII)
I see him as a great musican and a good actor, I mean he doesn't even have silver hair, there is not much sephirothness here, unless you mean a bish with a sword( and I use that word bish lightly since they are both too old to use that term)
