forget Lester - that was Moorestyle, one of the greats! Very few horses in my memory are as good over 5f (Abbeye) and a mile (French Guineas, a tad unlucky). And unbeatable at 6 and 7. What a horse.

The point youve missed is there are many clips of Lester at his inimitable best and this is the only clip of Moorestyle (oddly, the vids called Moorestyle not Lester) so perhaps we can take this one chance to focus on a great horse rated 137, instead of Lester who didn't need to use his great talent to win this race.

thanks 7blackbird. not very long but even a short clip of lester is great. we won't see another jockey like him. the greatest jockey of all time,forget the yank jocks,lester was the tallest flat jockey of all and was riding at something like 2 stone under his natural weight. the guy worked so hard for his success and to me he is the supreme master. thanks again for this and your other lester postings.

If you want a real laugh at how great Lester was then checkout SIR IVORS win in America its absolutely hilarious.Only in front for 50yds Lesters already pulling him up while the 2nd and 3rd go past still riding out the finish ;o)
