Watching this let's play now after I just started playing the game, I noticed that you had a dead shopkeeper and damsel right near an altar. That would have been a prime time to start working towards the Kapala since the Kapala is actually a better way to earn life than rescuing damsels.

I like dark levels, the risk goes through the roof but so does reward because of all the golden scarabs. I think it's a good feature.

If you did get the idol it would of destroyed the altar and made kali angry

actually, shopkeepers have 20 hp, and each bullet does approximately 4 damage. this also explains why the shotgun will almost always instakill you, because each pellet does 4 damage, and it fires 6 pellets at a time

you can throw a bomb at the keeper and kill him and rob everything with only 1 bomb :).

The pistol will do it too, and if you're gonna use a gun just to light up a level, the pistol is better because it fires faster

You know you can pick up an arrow after its shot, but be careful because if it hits a block or a wall it rebounds and hits you.

you can just walk off the cliff, or if youre one more tile up, you can hang off the edge and drop safely, that tricks works great in area two.

I found most of your deaths hilarious up until now, but that death after getting the Eye was painful. =(
