@SrkiTheI Having played Jesus in superstar myself, I can vouch for how tough this song is, the hardest thing is getting the emotion, the singing itself it's really that hard. the soprano top A in 'whats the buzz' is the tough one! most people don't even bother with it. this guys is a very good singer but, i'm not feeling the pain and anguish.

Bella versione, ma la voce è troppo tonda nel senso che quando arrivi a " can you show me now..." devi tirare fuori pure un po di voce sporca per incattivirla sennò sembri un James LaBrie o un Bruce Dickinson =)

I have been a fan of JCS since is first came out in the early 70's. The 1973 movie with Ted Neeley & Carl Anderson blew me away I am a huge fan of both of the amazing artists. Just this year I found Steve Balsamo who played Jesus in the West End of London production of JCS in 1996-1997 and he is BRILLIANT.

So David to you I say BRAVO you have a wonderful voice and hit many impressive notes

wow this guy has a great voice. Typical Rock range, much like Gillan in his style. Even without seeing this performance i can hear the emotion, unlike some performances that just want to belt it out. After all it is a deeply emotional song, one of the most difficult to sing & Act well. Steve Balsamo projects the best emotional performance for me, truly an astounding all round artist, but now,Merletto is up there in my top 5 definately.

He's pretty amazing. Now i'll check out his band too.

well done! this is one of the hardest pieces ever to both interpretate and sing. it's not easy to put yourself out there and try to do a cover. and from what i've heard so far, he's done a good job! btw, i can hear a lot of geoff tate's style on his voice and the high notes remind me of andre matos! im definitely gonna check his prog band!

There are so many styles Merletto sings, why did he attempt gillans style, he has a good voice but on this occasion he brutalised Gethsemane, he was all over the place, it was too busy, i've heard better versions, the whole essence of the song was not obvious, only because i've heard Neeley and Balsamo's version could i understand the deep emotional attatchment this song portrays. Daedalus are something else though.
