wow. those percussionists are a joke. i dont think they realize there is a conducter. that was pretty terrible. we just played this and i played like 3 parts at once and played it way better than them. winds are good though.
It can be easily heard that you guys are good, but timing is all about this piece. I know its very difficult since I played it in our wind Orchestra. 1st Alto Sax.
totally agree with Razer5660.... u guys are good.. but ur not playing together. at all. the percussion especially. there is a drag on mallets and crash especially. comming from a percussionist myself who had played this song and kno the difficulty... i think the real problem is the timing... u guys are playing it too fast and therefore for ur skill doesnt get shown as well as it should have.
ahhh shudders, goosbums at 1:30 when the alto solo hits the high D. when i heard this live i got the biggest lot of goosbumps ever from that solo (not this band though) that is such a beautiful part, it really needs to be played out, ie stand up, make a big deal out of it, within reason of coarse, but it needs to be heard. : ) good job guys :)
I second all comments regarding people not watching conductor. Definitely not in sync.

it's funny how the oboe part at 1:!0 always seems awkward to me no matter whos playing it

Same here. One of my friends in wind ensemble is playing this and it always seems out of place.

What happened to dynamics? Balance? Playing together? Urgh.
